Giants intercept three passes during Week 3 win
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
|(9/21/14) Despite surrendering more than 400 yards, the Giants had a pretty strong defensive effort during a 30-17 win Week 3 vs. Houston.
The Texans did finish with 411 yards (119 rushing) and were playing without star running back Arian Foster (hamstring). But the Giants held Houston to no points, four first downs and 83 yards in the first half.
Giants cornerback Prince Amukamara, safety Antrel Rolle and cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie each had an interception Sunday. Linebacker Jameel McClain led the team with 11 tackles (nine solo). Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was second on the team with seven tackles (five solo). Amukamara and Rodgers-Cromartie each had two pass defenses.
The Giants are back in action Thursday at Washington.

Jason Pierre-Paul expects to practice Wednesday
|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
|(9/9/14) Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is expected to be on the field for the team's first weekly practice Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
"I'm sure we'll monitor it, but he really felt good after the game, and this morning as well," head coach Tom Coughlin said Tuesday. "We'll list him as limited, but I think the fact that he came back and played and played with good energy, finished the game, didn't seem to have any issues, I think that's a good sign."
Pierre-Paul left Monday's game with an injury to the neck/shoulder area but was able to return, finishing the game with four tackles.
Jason Pierre-Paul limited to four tackles Week 1

|(9/9/14) Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul worked through a neck injury in an uneventful Week 1 performance against the Lions at Ford Field.|
Pierre-Paul left the game in the opening quarter and after X-rays on his injured neck came back negative, he returned to the field in the second quarter. He totaled four tackles (two solo) in a 35-14 defeat.
Jason Pierre-Paul exits MNF after tough collision
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
|(9/8/14) Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was forced out of Week 1 against the Lions in because of an apparent left shoulder injury. Pierre-Paul collided with teammate while trying to tackle Eli Manning. He was on the floor in pain before being taken back to the locker room for X-rays. According to ESPN's Lisa Salters, the team was also concerned with the way Pierre-Paul's neck turned on the play. He is expected to return.
|Will the real Jason Pierre-Paul please stand up? He was a dominant force in 2011, but the past two years he has disappeared with his production. Pierre-Paul went from 16.5 sacks and 86 total tackles in 2011 to 8.5 sacks and 93 total tackles the past two years combined. Now, a shoulder injury in 2013 limited him to just 11 games, but we need to see Pierre-Paul rebound in a big way. His weight is down -- he showed up to offseason workouts at 270 from 285 last year -- and the Giants believe he can bounce back this season. We still consider Pierre-Paul a No. 1 defensive lineman in IDP leagues, and he's worth drafting with a mid-round pick. If he plays to his talent level then a double-digit sack season will happen, but hopefully the injuries and poor play are behind him heading into this year.
