Lane Johnson tries to explains suspension
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/23/14) Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson issued this statement about his four-game suspension for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug: "In April while training, I mistakenly and foolishly put a prescribed medication in my body to help with a medical issue," Johnson began.

"I mistakenly failed to clear it with Eagles trainers and check the NFL list of banned substances. I am extremely sorry for this mistake and I will learn from it and be smarter in the future."

by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/30/14) Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson will miss the first four games of the 2014 season for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, league sources tell the Philadelphia Daily News

Johnson was the top pick of the Eagles in 2013 and started all 16 games, rating as a great run blocker but a poor pass blocker according to ProFootballFocus.com.

The Eagles' first four games are against the Jaguars, Colts, Redskins and 49ers.

Bigger, stronger Lane Johnson reports to OTAs
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4/25/14) Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson, who played his rookie year at 310 pounds, showed up to OTAs "bigger and stronger," reports the team's website. Johnson reflected on his rookie season.

"It went good. I think I had some rookie bumps in the first half of the year, but toward the latter part of the year I think I played really well," he said. "I think my body is a whole lot more rested than it was last year. I feel a lot stronger than I was last year, I weigh more than last year – it’s the most I’ve ever weighed – and I just feel that from a mental aspect I know what to expect. Nothing is going to catch me off guard."

Lane Johnson could eventually switch to left tackle
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(1/27/14) The Eagles' Lane Johnson, who started all 16 games at right tackle as a rookie, eventually could move to left tackle, reports Birds 24/7. “He’s done it at a high level in college football and he’s certainly got the movement skills and the size and the length," general manager Howie Roseman said.

Jason Peters, Philly's current left tackle, is entering the last year of his contract.
