|Emerging Dee Milliner earns awards |

(1/2/14) What appeared at first to be a disastrous first draft pick in 2013 provided the Jets some vindication at the end of the season regarding cornerback Dee Milliner. His performance down the stretch has earned him AFC Defensive Rookie of the Month honors.
Milliner, who was benched twice during a tough first half of the year, shut down NFL leading receiver Josh Gordon in Week 16 with six pass breakups, and top Miami wideout Mike Wallace in the following game, registering three interceptions along the way.

(12/22/13) Jets rookie cornerback Dee Milliner has been criticized and benched this season, but he came up with one encouraging performance Sunday against Cleveland.
The first-round pick not only contributed to keeping Browns prolific wideout Josh Gordon out of the end zone, but he snagged his first career interception to halt a drive six minutes into the second half. He also led his team with a season-high nine tackles, eight solos and five passes defensed.

(12/16/13) Jets rookie cornerback Dee Milliner made six tackles, all solo, in the Week 15 loss at Carolina. Up to 43 stops this season, Milliner plays Cleveland in Week 16.
|Jets clear a slew of injured players Week 14 |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(12/8/13) Jets guard Willie Colon (calf), cornerback Antonio Cromartie (hip), defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis (back), wide receiver Santonio Holmes (foot, hamstring), running back Chris Ivory (ankle), wide receiver Jeremy Kerley (elbow), center Nick Mangold (wrist), linebacker Garrett McIntyre (knee), cornerback Dee Milliner (wrist), wide receiver Greg Salas (finger), quarterback Geno Smith (right wrist), defensive Muhammad Wilkerson (wrist) and tight end Kellen Winslow (knee) were all cleared to play Week 14 vs. Oakland. All of these players were listed as probable.
|The Jets lost standout cornerback Darrelle Revis this offseason in a trade to Tampa Bay. To help replace Revis, the Jets selected rookie cornerback Dee Milliner with the No. 9 pick in the NFL Draft out of Alabama. The Jets have to feel that Milliner is healthy. He has had four surgeries: on his leg, knee, hernia and shoulder, including a procedure to repair a torn labrum last month. The shoulder surgery could make him a question mark for the start of training camp. Still, Milliner was considered the top corner in the draft out of Alabama. He had 54 tackles and 22 passes defensed and a pair of interceptions last season with the Crimson Tide. He is not going to be Revis, but he definitely helps the Jets fill a hole on defense. Milliner is not someone who will be Fantasy relevant in the majority of leagues, but he could be worth a late-round pick in deep IDP formats. (Updated 5/15/13) |
