Lattimore 'fine' with sitting for '13
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/10/13) When asked about sitting out the 2013 season because of a knee injury suffered in college, 49ers rookie running back Marcus Lattimore told the San Francisco Chronicle "I think that would be fine." Coach Jim Harbaugh said the right knee "looks good structurally" but warned against a quick return. Lattimore suffered a dislocated right knee cap with three torn ligaments in a vicious play last October, ending his collegiate career after deciding to turn pro.

(5/6/13) Comcast Sports Net reports that the 49ers are expected to put rookie running back Marcus Lattimore on the "non-football injury" list to open training camp. Lattimore suffered a dislocated right knee cap with three torn ligaments in a vicious play last October, ending his collegiate career after deciding to turn pro. He was drafted in the fourth round.
Niners pick up Lattimore
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(4/27/13) The 49ers selected South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore with a fourth-round choice in the NFL draft. It might be the perfect landing spot for him since there is no pressure for him to develop into a contributor in 2013. Lattimore suffered a dislocated right knee cap with three torn ligaments in a vicious play last October, ending his collegiate career after deciding to turn pro. He's been diligently rehabbing the injury this spring and has even had a workout prior to the draft. Lattimore totaled 3,444 yards and 41 touchdowns from scrimmage over three years with the Gamecocks, averaging at least 4.6 yards per carry and 4.9 yards per catch over that span.
Lattimore goes through workout
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(3/27/13) Yahoo! Sports reports that South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore, who suffered a gruesome knee injury last year, worked out for NFL scouts on Wednesday. Lattimore didn't do a full workout, according to the report. He did 15-20 minutes of rehab drills to show the strength and movement in his knee.
Lattimore says rehab ahead of schedule
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/19/13) Former University of South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore said on the school's radio station that he is way ahead of schedule in his recovery from knee surgery, and the doctors who evaluate him at this week's NFL combine "will be shocked, I can tell you that." Lattimore is set to attend the combine in Indianapolis Thursday through Sunday. He is not expected to participate in any of the physical drills at the annual event but says he plans to start running the Monday after the combine. South Carolina's all-time touchdown leader said noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews will accompany him to Indianapolis to help answer any questions teams may have about Lattimore's injury, surgery and recovery. Lattimore tore multiple knee ligaments last fall in a game against Tennessee. In December, he announced he would skip his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
