Marcus Lattimore, Ian Williams head list of unavailable 49ers
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/22/14) The 49ers placed six players on the non-football injury list, including second-year running back Marcus Lattimore (knee). Also on the list are receiver Bruce Ellington, center Marcus Martin, fullback Trey Millard, cornerback Keith Reaser and guard Brandon Thomas.

In addition, the team placed nose tackle Ian Williams (ankle) on the PUP list along with linebacker Aaron Lynch (hamstring) and defensive lineman Kaleb Ramsey

All the players can come off the list and start practicing at any time.

Marcus Lattimore to open camp on NFI list
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/17/14) The 49ers announced that running back Marcus Lattimore will begin training camp on the team's non-football injury list, reports NFL.com.

Lattimore said in February that he was close to 100 percent on the heels of back-to-back devastating knee injuries in 2011 and 2012 at South Carolina. But he will now watch from afar as rookie Carlos Hyde challenges veteran Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter for snaps in San Francisco's run-heavy attack.

Lattimore's comeback has been an inspiration to teammates, but he will need to get on the field sooner than later to remain in the 49ers' plans.

Marcus Lattimore has good first day of minicamp
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/18/14) 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore picked up a few extra reps while Frank Gore rested for the team's first day of minicamp and looked great. According to the Sacramento Bee, Lattimore was noticeably better, showing more explosiveness than he did a couple of weeks back when his hamstring was bothering him.

He showed off that burst of his when he made a catch on an out pattern and sped up the field. The paper qualifies this as "making progress" while offensive coordinator said Lattimore was "right on track."

Lattimore will compete for a spot on the depth chart behind Frank Gore in camp this summer.

Marcus Lattimore 'working through something'
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/23/14) 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said Friday that second-year running back Marcus Lattimore is "working through something" and won't take part in the rookie minicamp, reports the Sacramento Bee.

The report said it's not related to his knee, according to Harbaugh, since Lattimore is trying to come back from the horrific knee injury he suffered in his final year at South Carolina in 2012.

The report speculates that Lattimore, who has been working out this offseason, is dealing with soreness in his leg after a year of not going full speed. The 49ers can ease Lattimore back into action with Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter and rookie Carlos Hyde on the roster.

Marcus Lattimore reports no knee soreness or swelling
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(5/20/14) 49ers running back Marcus Lattimore, who tore three ligaments in his left knee in October 2012, is pleased with his progress in the team's offseason program. He did not play last season while rehabbing the injury.

"It’s been going good," Lattimore told the team's website. "I’m real happy because I’ve had no knee problems, nothing in my knee, no soreness, no swelling."

But Lattimore, who earlier this month said he has not yet regained his explosiveness, conceded he has a ways to go.

"It’s all the other muscles around the knee getting used to the workload again and going full-speed," Lattimore said. "That’s what I have to get used to, going full-speed again and getting those instincts back that I’ve had.

"I’m taking it one day at a time. Your hamstring gets sore, your calves get sore, but you push through that. And once you get used to that as the weeks go by, the more I get into football shape, I feel like I’ll be fine."
