|Trainer updates Dominique Easley's rehab |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(7/15/14) Patriots first-round pick Dominique Easley, a defensive tackle out of Florida, returned to Florida after minicamp to work with a trainer on his ACL rehab. The trainer, Tony Villani, said Easley "was looking real good," according to the Providence Journal.
"You’ve still got a couple months until the season and they’re important, but he’s in the last stages of getting that confidence and pop back so he can do whatever he wants with that knee," Villani told the paper. "I only saw him for a week and he’s been in the Patriots’ hold since being drafted. ... You could definitely see he’s made a lot of progress and he should be ready [for the season]. It’s there for the taking."
|Pats to have Dominique Easley for training camp? |
|by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(7/8/14) Patriots rookie defensive lineman Dominique Easley could be ready for the beginning of training camp. ESPN believes it "wouldn't be a surprise" if Easley is practicing in late July.
Easley tore his ACL last season with Florida -- the second time he's torn an ACL in his career -- but practiced with the team on the last day of minicamp in June.
|Dominique Easley has the chance to play for the Patriots right away if his torn ACL from September is OK. Easley was a beast at Florida, but he suffered two ACL tears in each knee since 2011. He will be part of the defensive line rotation in the middle with Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly. He doesn't have much Fantasy value in IDP leagues because he'll be more of a run stuffer and someone who can take up space, but he can definitely help New England's defense improve. Keep an eye on his health heading into the season, but he's not worth drafting in most IDP leagues this year.
