T.J. Jones unsure if he'll be ready for start of season
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/30/14) Lions rookie receiver T.J. Jones, who's coming back from shoulder surgery, is doing individual drills but not catching passes yet. He told MLive.com he doesn't know if he'll be ready for the start of the season.

"Depends on how long my body wants to heal," he said. "Right now I'm just focused on coming back as strong and as healthy as I can be, for whenever that day is."

The sixth-round pick out of Notre Dame has fallen behind and is in danger of not making the team.

Four receivers for one spot in Detroit?
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/17/14) The Lions official team website believes four receivers will compete for one roster spot in camp this summer. Kevin Ogletree, Kris Durham, rookie T.J. Jones and second-year wideout Corey Fuller are considered "leading candidates" for the job. Ogletree and Durham lead the way in terms of experience but Fuller and Jones are younger and might have more explosiveness to contribute.
T.J. Jones recovering from shoulder scope

(6/24/14) Lions rookie receiver T.J. Jones missed minicamp due to arthroscopic shoulder surgery, reports the Detroit Free Press. Jones said he feels a little behind in learning the offense, but should be ready for training camp.

Before the surgery, the sixth-rounder out of Notre Dame was working primarily as a slot receiver along with Ryan Broyles and tight end Eric Ebron.

T.J. Jones competing to be Lions' slot receiver
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(5/20/14) Lions rookie T.J. Jones is vying with tight end Eric Ebron and receiver Ryan Broyles to be the team's primary weapon in the slot, reports MLive.com. Jones (6-0, 195) ranks second in Notre Dame history with 181 catches.

Jones admitted he was a bit awed the first time he lined up with quarterback Matthew Stafford and star receiver Calvin Johnson.

"At first it, it was a little overwhelming," Jones told the website. "It's kind of a dream come true to have such greats surrounding you. After the first time, this is something you have to expect. This is something you have to get used to because if you want to play next year -- if I want to get on the field -- I'm going to be surrounded by them.

"Getting to play with your role models takes some getting used to, even if you come from a Notre Dame."

Lions add WR depth with T.J. Jones
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(5/10/14) With the 189th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions selected wide receiver T.J. Jones from Notre Dame.

The 5-foot-9, 189-pound receiver had a breakout 2013 campaign, posting 70 receptions for 1,108 yards and nine touchdowns. He will join a receiving group that consists of Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Ryan Broyles, Kris Durham, Jeremy Ross and Kevin Ogletree.
