Report: Chiefs QB Tyler Bray tore ACL playing basketball

by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(2/18/15) Chiefs backup quarterback Tyler Bray tore his anterior cruciate ligament while playing basketball in January, according to a report from ESPN.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid confirmed Bray's torn ligament at the NFL combine, though it was previously reported a month ago. Reid did not go into details with reporters about the injury.

Bray spent all of this season on injured reserve after suffering a high ankle sprain.

Chiefs general manager John Dorsey, via the Kansas City Star, said the Chiefs will hold onto Bray for the time being.

Chiefs QB Tyler Bray has torn ACL

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(1/20/15) Chiefs quarterback Tyler Bray has a torn ACL and will undergo surgery this week, general manager John Dorsey told the team's website. Bray's injury prompted the team to sign former Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor.

Bray spent all of this season on injured reserve after suffering a high ankle sprain.

Chiefs pare roster down to 53

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/30/14) The Chiefs have announced their final round of cuts and other moves to reach the league-mandated roster of 53 players.

Among the offensive players let go are fullback Jordan Campbell, wide receivers Fred Williams and Mark Harrison, guard Ricky Henry, tackle J'Marcus Webb and running back Charcandrick West.

The defensive players gone from the roster are safeties Jonathon Amaya and Malcolm Bronson, linemen Dominique Hamilton, Kyle Love and Kona Schwenke, linebackers Alonzo Highsmith, Devan Walker and Nico Johnson and cornerbacks Justin Rogers and DeMarcus Van Dyke .

The Chiefs have also placed Tyler Bray and Kyle Williams on IR and Mike Catapano on the non-football injury list.

Chiefs draft Aaron Murray

by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/10/14) With pick No. 163 in the NFL Draft, the Chiefs selected quarterback Aaron Murray from Georgia. Murray is expected to challenge Chase Daniel and Tyler Bray to be the No. 2 quarterback behind starter Alex Smith.

Murray will likely sit for at least a year since Smith is entering the final season of his contract, although don't be suprised if Smith still gets a contract extension in Kansas City. Either way, don't expect Murray to start any time soon barring injury.

Murray finished his career at Georgia by passing for 3,075 yards, 26 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 11 starts in 2013 before suffering a torn ACL in his left knee against Kentucky. He is the only quarterback in SEC history to throw for more than 3,000 yards in all four seasons and is the conference's career record holder in touchdowns (121) and passing yards (13,166).

His status for the start of training camp is questionable with his knee.

Injured linemen highlight Chiefs inactives

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(1/4/14) Among the Chiefs inactives for Saturday's Wild Card playoff game against the Colts, only two injured players were unable to take the field. Offensive linemen Eric Kush (ankle) and Eric Fisher (groin, shoulder) were among the seven players listed as inactive prior to the game.

Those two are joined by fellow offensive lineman Rokevious Watkins, quarterback Tyler Bray, tight end Richard Gordon , linebacker Dezman Moses and defensive lineman Jerrell Powe on the inactive list.
