Report: Rishard Matthews wants Dolphins to trade or release him
by Jason Butt | CBSSports.com
(5/7/15) Dolphins receiver Rishard Matthews wants to take his talents somewhere other than South Beach.
According to the Miami Herald, Matthews has asked the Dolphins to either trade or release him. With the Dolphins acquiring Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings this offseason, Matthews apparently thinks he'll once again be too far down the depth chart.
Matthews isn't attending voluntary workouts to show his displeasure toward the team.
In three seasons, the former seventh-round selection out of Nevada has totaled 64 receptions for 734 yards and four touchdowns.

(12/14/14) The Dolphins received contributions from several pass-catchers during Sunday's loss to the Patriots in Week 15.
Tight end Charles Clay finished as the team's third-leading receiver on the day, hauling in six of seven passes thrown in his direction for 59 yards. Backup tight end Dion Sims and was targeted once and held without a grab.
Meanwhile, Brandon Gibson and Rishard Matthews combined for five catches for 45 yards. Gibson caught three for 29 yards, while Matthews came down with two grabs for 16 yards. Brian Hartline was targeted twice and held without a grab.
Rishard Matthews wants out of Miami, and he's hoping for an expanded role for 2015. If Matthews stays with the Dolphins this season he would be low on the depth chart behind Jarvis Landry, DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Greg Jennings. He only had 12 catches for 135 yards and two touchdowns in 2014, and his stats won't likely increase if he remains with the Dolphins. Keep an eye on what develops heading into training camp, but Matthews has minimal Fantasy value in the majority of leagues heading into this year.
