Austin Seferian-Jenkins says his foot has healed
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/10/14) Buccaneers rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, a second-round pick who could start, said his left foot is in good shape following February surgery for a stress fracture, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

"I feel really good. My foot feels really good," he said. "I've been running routes, doing all the exercise and workout drills that they've asked me to do. I feel very comfortable and confident that I'll be ready to go when it comes to training camp."

The foot injury limited Seferian-Jenkins during the team's rookie minicamp. He missed OTAs and the mandatory minicamp because of the University of Washington's academic calendar.

"The only thing you can really do is try to learn the formations and concepts, the methodology of the offense, but there's nothing that substitutes for the hands-on experience of being out there running routes, and getting the timing down with the quarterbacks, the communication, all that stuff," he said. "There's definitely going to be a little bit of a learning curve, but that's to be expected when you're not there at all. It's nothing I can't overcome. I'm just going into it one day at a time and will be working really hard."

Bucs sign rookie Austin Seferian-Jenkins
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/12/14) The Buccaneers have agreed to terms with rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, their second round pick from Washington, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

Seferian-Jenkins is expected to compete with Timothy Wright and Brandon Myers for the starting job, but he has the most upside of the three.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins favored to start

(5/21/14) Austin Seferian-Jenkins' draft position "probably makes him the favorite" to start at tight end for the Buccaneers, reports ESPN.com. The 6-foot-6, second-round pick out of Washington is recovering from foot surgery but should be 100 percent for training camp.

While Seferian-Jenkins projects as the starter, tight end Timothy Wright should play substantially too, the report said.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins recovering from foot surgery

(5/19/14) Buccaneers rookie tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, a second-round pick out of Washington, was limited in minicamp as he recovers from foot surgery, reports the Tampa Bay Times.
Fantasy owners should wait with Austin Seferian-Jenkins
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/12/14) The Buccaneers spent a second-round pick on Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins , a player new offensive coordinator Jeff Tedford is likely familiar with since he competed against him while coaching at Cal.

The 6-foot-6, 262-pounder is considered a matchup nightmare for defenders because of his strong receiving skills, excellent route-running skills and capable (not elite) speed. Seferian-Jenkins totaled 21 touchdowns in 38 career games in school, earning the John Mackey Award for being the nation's top tight end. Because the Bucs signed Brandon Myers and still have Timothy Wright on the roster, this season could be one where Seferian-Jenkins learns the ropes of being a pro and doesn't produce a whole lot.

We'd pass on him in seasonal Fantasy drafts but would consider him with a late pick in dynasty/keeper leagues and with a mid-round pickup in rookie-only drafts.
