|by R.J. White | CBSSports.com|
(9/3/14) The Rams will start offensive lineman Rodger Saffold at guard Sunday over No. 2 overall pick Greg Robinson, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
"We made the decision for the opener that we're better off going with experience,'' head coach Jeff Fisher said Wednesday. "Doesn't necessarily mean (Robinson) won't play in the game, but we're going to go with guys who have a lot of snaps under their belts.''
Fisher added that Robinson "has done it all through preseason and he's gotten better each week."

|Rams likely to put Greg Robinson at guard |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(5/12/14) No. 2 overall pick Greg Robinson, the massive offensive tackle from Auburn, likely will begin his NFL career at left guard, reports NFL.com. The Rams figure to start Jake Long at left tackle and Joe Barksdale at right tackle.
"We all know what Greg’s capable of doing,” coach Jeff Fisher said. “He’s an outstanding young man. And that workout last week (at Auburn) was really, really impressive. We’ll plug him in where we feel he’s got the best chance to be successful right now.
"I don’t know exactly where that is, but he may start off inside before we move him back outside. But you’re talking about an athlete. Powerful, great quickness and strength. He has a chance to be a dominant player inside initially."
The Rams' plans could change if Long doesn't recover quickly enough from his ACL injury.
|Rams make Greg Robinson their first first-round choice |
|by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(5/8/14) With the second pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Rams drafted Auburn offensive tackle Greg Robinson . Considered an athletic beast at 6-foot-5 and 332 pounds, the consensus on Robinson is that he is the best run blocking tackle in the draft but still a bit unseasoned as a pass blocker.
Robinson should end up starting right away for St. Louis but is expected to begin his career as their left guard, ESPN reports.
