McSurdy's rookie season ends abruptly: Cowboys rookie linebacker Caleb McSurdy, a seventh-round pick out of the University of Montana, suffered a torn Achilles during Wednesday's practice and will miss the entirety of the season, according to NFL.com

McSurdy had a chance to work his way into the linebacker rotation as a rookie, but he was not expected to make much of an impact either way. McSurdy finished his lone preseason game Monday with four tackles, and now it looks like he will not have the opportunity to perform in a game until next season. He should be ignored in all Fantasy formats.

Cowboys Notebook: Dan Bailey kicks team to the beach
While Thursday was supposed to be the final full-practice day for the Cowboys in Oxnard, coach Jason Garrett gave his team a treat. He took the team out of full pads and, with about 90 minutes still remaining on the schedule, called the team together in a huddle.
