Fantasy Analysis
The arrow is pointing down on Abraham, but he still has the ability to rush the passer. Still, utilizing him as anything more than a No. 3 Fantasy DL is probably not a good idea. Expect him to be a late-round pick. (Updated 03/16/2012).
03/23/2012 13:34 Draft team needs: Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons know how to win games. In the postseason, however, is a different story as they are 0-3 under Mike Smith. Pete Prisco says Atlanta needs to focus on improving both sides of the line in the draft.
03/16/2012 15:32 Falcons re-sign DE John Abraham
Despite wishing for $12 million a year, Falcons defensive end John Abraham probably didn't get that much when he re-signed with Atlanta for three years.
John Abraham is back with the Falcons after signing a new contract this offseason. Abraham has shed the injury-prone label after missing just two games over the last five years, and the 9.5 sacks he had in 2011 to go with his 35 total tackles made him a decent Fantasy option at a thin position. He is getting old (will be 34 this season) and might see his playing time dip but he should be considered a nice source for sacks. He's a borderline No. 2/No. 3 Fantasy defensive lineman in leagues that reward tackles and a solid No. 2 DL in leagues that do not. (Updated 4/25/12)
