| Fantasy Analysis |
When it comes to getting to the quarterback Abraham has been mostly reliable. After landing 10 sacks last season he notched a total of 122.0 in his career and has at least 9.5 in all but two of his seven seasons with the Falcons. His tackle totals aren't much to write home about (around 35 to 40 per year for the last five years) with a handful of passes defensed to boot. As he gets older, his playing time could continue to decrease and the end result would be weaker stats. Think of him as a borderline No. 2/No. 3 DL in 2013. (Updated 3/1/13). |
| John Abraham is a free agent after being part of the Falcons' salary cap purge in early March. He was the team's best defensive lineman for Fantasy purposes as he racked up 10 sacks, six forced fumbles and seven passes defensed but offered just 35 total tackles with those numbers. In a world where great Fantasy defensive linemen are few and far between, this was good enough to register as a top-24 option. Abraham doesn't play every down anymore and shouldn't be counted on as anything but a No. 3 Fantasy DL in leagues that reward tackles and a solid No. 2 DL in leagues that do not. (Updated 4/26/13) |
