Ellis was able to finish out the contest on Sunday, but does not look to be 100 percent. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status over the next few days, as he will more than likely wind up on the injury report. Still, he should be considered nothing more than low-end option at this point of his career anyway. (Updated 10/10/2011).
Shaun Ellis was a free agent this offseason, and he ended up in New England as so many veterans do. Ellis, 33, is a good source of sacks and little else. For now, he would only be worth a late-round pick in deep IDP leagues considering his role is to be determined. Our advice would be to leave Ellis on the waiver wire and pick him up only if he starts out the season playing well. (Updated 8/7/11)
