Redman spells Ryan for two plays: Falcons backup QB Chris Redman saw his first action of the 2011 season when starting QB Matt Ryan left briefly in the third quarter with ankle and knee injuries Week 7 at Detroit. Ryan was taken to the locker room for the change of possession and hadn't returned at the start of the Falcons' next series. But Redman was needed for only two plays -- a handoff and an incomplete pass.

Fantasy Analysis
Sunday's close call serves as a reminder that Redman is just one bad break away from taking over as the Falcons' starting quarterback. He has been adequate when filling in for Ryan in the past but wouldn't be an especially good Fantasy option in such a role. Because Ryan was able to return from this injury, Redman should remain on waivers in all Fantasy leagues.
