Brandin Cooks to shine in Week 3
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/18/14) Brandin Cooks gets to finally play his first home game in New Orleans and we're expecting a fireworks display from this passing attack after the down game in Cleveland in Week 2.

Marques Colston and Cooks were held to three catches for 17 yards combined while Cooks added two carries for 31 yards.

Look for New Orleans to come out throwing, so start Colston and Cooks in the majority of leagues. The good news for Cooks is he had 14 targets through two games, along with three carries, so the Saints are trying to get the ball in his hands.

We think a similar game plan will lead to big rewards in this matchup.

Brandin Cooks contributes little aside from big run Sunday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks achieved more on the ground Sunday than he did through the air, which says something not wonderful about his afternoon in Cleveland.

Cooks caught three passes for 17 yards, but did scamper 28 yards around left end in the second quarter to help set up a field goal that put his team on the board. He added another run for three yards.

New Orleans is set to host Minnesota in Week 3.

Brandin Cooks makes good first impression
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/7/14) Asked to play an especially big role with fellow wide receiver Kenny Stills still sidelined by a quadriceps injury, rookie Brandin Cooks rose to the occasion in his first NFL game Week 1 at Atlanta.

More like his first NFL drive, actually. He caught three passes, including a 32-yarder on the second play of the game, on the Saints' first possession, setting them up for a 31-yard field goal. He wouldn't touch the ball again until the team's third possession, when he picked up 18 yards on his only carry of the day, but he'd finish with seven catches for 77 yards. His eight targets tied for second-most on the team.

Cooks' biggest play was his 3-yard touchdown grab late in the second quarter. It was the only touchdown thrown by quarterback Drew Brees all day.

As promised, Cooks played a variety of roles in the passing game, both stretching the field and running routes underneath. Though Stills' status for Week 2 is unknown, Cooks should continue to play a major role at the Browns.

Brandin Cooks has ideal matchup to begin career
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/2/14) Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who climbed the Fantasy rankings with a strong preseason performance in which he caught nine passes for 101 yards and a touchdown, couldn't ask for a better matchup to begin his career than a visit to Atlanta in Week 1. The Falcons ranked 21st against the pass last season, allowing 243.6 yards per game.

But that doesn't quite capture the full extent of their struggles. They allowed the second-highest passer rating and the fourth-most passing touchdowns. They also surrendered the eight-most Fantasy points to wide receivers.

Cooks is listed behind both Marques Colston and Kenny Stills on the depth chart, but the Saints have said they'll use him in a variety of roles, looking to capitalize on his big-play potential both underneath (filling the Darren Sproles void) and down the field.

Banking on them doing it right out of the gate is risky, which is why neither Jamey Eisenberg nor Dave Richard ranks Cook among the top 30 wide receivers this week, but if you're in the gambling sort of mood, the matchup favors him.

Brandin Cooks misses second straight practice
