Brandin Cooks 'experiment' off to a good start
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(8/11/14) The Saints plan to line up rookie receiver Brandin Cooks all over the field, and the "experiment is off to a good start," reports NFL scout Chris Landry in the New Orleans Times-Picayune. Against the Rams in the preseason opener, Cooks worked from the X, Z, slot and Y-flex positions on the outside.

"His natural explosive abilities were on full display with the inside cut move, accelerating past a good, young corner in E.J. Gaines," Landry wrote. "Cooks showed great timing on a two-man combo route. ... Cooks is a quick study who lines up quickly and correctly."

Cooks drew eight targets, catching five passes for 55 yards, including a 25-yard touchdown.
