Bishop Sankey's footwork was a little better Week 4, Whisenhunt says
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/29/14) Titans head coach Ken Whisenhunt told reporters on Monday that running back Bishop Sankey's footwork was a little better in Week 4 against the Colts, per the Tennessean

Whisenhunt criticized Sankey's footwork before Sunday, and he responded with a touchdown in mop-up duty. He played in 46 percent of the offensive snaps -- more than any other Tennessee running back -- and took six carries for 34 yards and a touchdown, averaging 5.7 yards per carry. He also caught two passes for 23 yards.

Bishop Sankey continues to impress
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/28/14) We didn't learn much about the Titans' running back situation in Week 5, because the Colts just pummeled them into abandoning the run early.

Titan's backs rushed the ball just 11 times in the game, with Bishop Sankey leading the way with six carries for 34 yards and a touchdown. This was the second week in a row Sankey touched the ball more often than fellow back Shonn Greene, who continues to be largely ineffective.

The Titans should be in more games moving forward, even if Charlie Whitehurst remains the quarterback. Their Week 5 opponent, the Browns, have been absolutely lit up by running backs, making Sankey a very intriguing option as a flex starter.

Bishop Sankey records first career TD Week 4
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/28/14) Titans running back Bishop Sankey was held without a carry or reception during the first half Sunday against the Colts. But despite less than 10 touches Week 4, Sankey still performed well in mop-up duty during a 41-17 blowout loss.

Sankey rushed for 34 yards on six carries in the second half. His longest rush went 10 yards and he scored from 2 yards out with 35 seconds left in the third quarter. It was the first touchdown of his career.

Sankey added two catches for 23 yards in the loss. The Titans are back in action Week 5 vs. Cleveland.

Coach: Bishop Sankey must improve footwork to get more reps
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/22/14) Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said rookie running back Bishop Sankey's reps will increase "if he can get the attention to detail better," reports the team's website. Sankey carried 10 times for 61 yards and added a 9-yard catch in the Week 3 loss at Tennessee in what easily was his best performance to date.
Bishop Sankey takes a step forward, at Shonn Greene's expense
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/22/14) Titans running back Shonn Greene might have found the end zone in Week 3 against the Bengals, but he saw less of the field than any of his backfield mates in the 33-7 loss.

Maybe it was just the flow of the game, but Greene's role was much-diminished Sunday. Greene saw sporadic playing time, including deep into the fourth quarter, but took a big backseat to both Dexter McCluster and Bishop Sankey. Greene played 46 percent of the team's snaps in Week 1, but has seen that number fall to 16 and 20 percent over the last two weeks.

And while McCluster was the big winner in Week 2, his role fell to 26 percent of the snaps in Week 3. This time around, it was Bishop Sankey's turn to shoulder the load, as he jumped up from 10.9 percent of the snaps through two games to 42 percent Sunday. He responded to the increased role well, with 61 yards on 10 carries, as well as one catch for 9 yards on his lone target.

Sankey was considered a big-time sleeper heading into the season, but we knew he would have to fight for time in a crowded backfield. Based on Week 3, he just might have earned it. Now is the time to snatch him up in the 34 percent of CBSSports.com leagues he is still available in.
