Sankey leads Titans' rushing attack with 56 yards in Week 7

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Titans running back Bishop Sankey rushed for a team-high 56 yards on 16 carries during a 19-17 loss Week 7 at Washington. His longest carry went 11 yards and he had no catches. He was targeted once.

Sankey has rushed for at least 50 yards in two straight games and three of five, but he hasn't had a touchdown in three straight games.

The Titans are back in action Week 8 vs. Houston.

Bishop Sankey a better stash than start

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/16/14) After faltering over the last quarter and a half Week 6 against Jacksonville, Titans running back Bishop Sankey looked like he may have squandered his opportunity to claim a full-time workload with Shonn Greene sidelined by a hamstring injury. But with Greene expected to miss Week 7 at Washington as well, Sankey gets a reprieve.

Unfortunately, he won't have a better matchup than he had against the Jaguars, so you may have a hard time talking yourself into starting him again after he delivered just six points in standard CBSSports.com leagues last week. And maybe you should trust that instinct. Though the Redskins rank a modest 12th against the run, they've allowed 3.9 yards per carry and are tied with the Ravens in giving up the third-fewest Fantasy points per game to running backs.

Sankey obviously has a good opportunity here and is a talented enough player to seize it, so you should want to keep him in Fantasy at least until the opportunity passes. But getting him in your lineup this week shouldn't be a priority. Both Jamey Eisenberg and Dave Richard rank him outside their top 24 at running back.

Late fade could cost Bishop Sankey

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/12/14) Sometime early in the third quarter of the Titans' Week 6 matchup against the Jaguars, I tweeted that I think we've seen the last of Shonn Greene in a meaningful role. At the time, rookie running back Bishop Sankey had 12 carries for 55 yards. Little did I know he'd have six for 6 the rest of the way.

His final line wasn't particularly good. He had 68 total yards (thanks in part to a 7-yard catch) and averaged 3.4 yards per carry. He was clearly the workhorse of the Titans backfield -- three other running backs combined for four carries -- but will that still be true when Greene returns from a hamstring injury?

Suffice it to say I'm not nearly as confident now as when I sent out that tweet, which means you probably shouldn't follow me if you don't want flimsy opinions that won't hold up for another six carries. But it also means the only way I'm starting Sankey Week 7 at Washington is if Greene is inactive again.

Bishop Sankey so-so in first start

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/12/14) Getting his first NFL start, Titans rookie running back Bishop Sankey ran 18 times for 61 yards (3.4 ypc) in the Week 6 win over the Jaguars. Sankey added a 7-yard reception on his only target.

Sankey got vultured at the goal line by Jackie Battle, who banged in a 1-yard touchdown run shortly before halftime. Sankey is stuck on one touchdown entering Week 7 at Washington. He could get another start if Shonn Greene (hamstring) remains sidelined.

Titans' Shonn Greene officially inactive for Week 6

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/12/14) As expected, Titans running back Shonn Greene was ruled inactive for Week 6 against Jacksonville because of a hamstring injury. Greene was unable to practice since Wednesday leading up to the game because of the injury. Tennessee will likely turn to rookie Bishop Sankey for the start, while Dexter McCluster could also see a bit of work in Greene's absence.
