Titans could use committee approach in backfield
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/21/14) Even though rookie running back Bishop Sankey is expected to "be the busiest back this season in terms of carries and production" for the Titans, the team could still use a running back by committee approach, reports the Tennessean.

The report says Sankey will share playing time with Shonn Greene and Dexter McCluster. The Titans want Greene to be their power back in goal-line and short-yardage situations, and McCluster has to prove he's more than a specialty back and pass catcher.

The Tennessean recently projected Sankey for more than 1,200 total yards and seven touchdowns. Based on those projections, Sankey would have finished as a Top 20 Fantasy running back in 2013.

Bishop Sankey headed for solid year
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/18/14) Titans rookie running back Bishop Sankey has the chance for a solid season in 2014, but expectations for his production could differ among experts.

For example, the Titans beat writer for the Tennessean, Jim Wyatt, likes Sankey to do well, just not as good as the expectations from me or Dave Richard. Wyatt shared his projections for Sankey, who he has with 980 rushing yards and five touchdowns and 24 catches for 242 yards and two touchdowns.

For an in-depth look at how Wyatt's projections compared to mine and Dave Richard check out this Fantasy Football Today blog here.

Bishop Sankey to be Titans' 'busiest back'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/15/14) Rookie Bishop Sankey figures to be Tennessee's "busiest back this season in terms of carries and production, even though the Titans plan on using a running back by committee approach," reports the Tennessean.

The paper envisions Dexter McCluster getting significant carries but being used as a "jack-of-all-trades player." The Titans want Shonn Greene to be their goal-line and short-yardage back, "but with a $2.3 million salary he's no slam dunk to make the 53-man roster unless he proves his value." Jackie Battle projects as the starting fullback.

Sankey has a big hurdle to overcome as he tries to make his mark. He missed most of the offseason work because of the University of Washington's academic calendar.

Bishop Sankey signs four-year deal
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/18/14) The Titans have signed rookie second-round pick Bishop Sankey to a four-year deal, The Tennessean reported on Tuesday. Sankey is expected to be the team's primary running back this season and beyond.
Bishop Sankey the best rookie running back you can draft
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(5/14/14) What the Titans are getting in Bishop Sankey is a strong, fast, versatile running back who should have no problem clearing 250 touches in 2014. Working behind a solid offensive line, Sankey should be the feature of the offense after being just that at Washington for two seasons and totaling over 3,700 yards and 35 touchdowns.

So long as all the pieces fall into place, you're looking at a rookie rusher worth a third- or fourth-round pick in seasonal standard drafts. Sankey also is worth the same kind of pick in dynasty/keeper leagues and is also worth taking with the top pick in rookie-only drafts.
