Kroy Biermann's snaps will be limited
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(7/25/14) Falcons coach Mike Smith told 92.9 The Game in Atlanta that pass rusher Kroy Biermann will practice but have limited snaps. He'll also take a day off of practice every two days. Biermann is coming off of an Achilles injury.
Sean Weatherspoon out for season
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/11/14) The Falcons announced Tuesday that linebacker Sean Weatherspoon will miss the entire 2014 season after rupturing his Achilles tendon during a workout.

"During Sean's run today with our medical staff, he suffered an injury," coach Mike Smith said in a statement. "We sent Sean to the doctor for some additional testing and evaluation and unfortunately the results showed that he ruptured his Achilles tendon. Sean had been working extremely hard to get back on the field, but regrettably he will miss the entire 2014 season. He will have a procedure done in the near future and we expect him to make a full recovery."

Weatherspoon is entering the final year of his contract and will be a free agent after this year.

Falcons re-sign Robert McClain
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/29/14) The Falcons re-signed defensive back Robert McClain Friday, though the terms of the deal are not yet known.

McClain played in all 16 games for the Falcons last season, with six starts, and recorded 66 tackles and five pass defenses. He was a restricted free agent this offseason, but did not find much interest with a seventh-round tender attached to him.

Peria Jerry re-signs with Falcons
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(3/19/14) The Falcons announced the re-signing of defensive lineman Peria Jerry Wednesday, though terms of the deal are not yet known.

Jerry appeared in 16 games last season, recording 33 tackles and 3.5 sacks in the most productive season of his career. The former first-round pick has just 5.5 sacks in five seasons.

Falcons headed back to 3-4 scheme?
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(3/11/14) CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora believes the Falcons are heading for a scheme change, moving to a 3-4 front after playing in a 4-3 format for years.

The move makes sense as it gets back to defensive coordinator Mike Nolan's roots. It also explains the additions they've made to their defensive line with Tyson Jackson and Paul Soliai joining the team. Last year the Falcons ranked 21st against the pass and 31st against the run.

The Falcons have also released safety Thomas DeCoud, saving themselves a couple of million dollars against the salary cap.
