(12/21/14) The Chiefs DST unit mostly slowed the Steelers down in Week 16, but not enough to come away on the right side of a 20-12 final score.
The Steelers managed just 282 yards of total offense against the Chiefs defense, but reached the red zone four times and scored on each trip. The Chiefs sacked Ben Roethlisberger just once, and failed to come away with a single turnover en route to 7 Fantasy points in the loss.
The Chiefs have managed to score in double figures in Fantasy points just once in the last six games, and have another tough matchup on the way in Week 17 against the Chargers.
Chiefs make most of favorable matchup

(12/14/14) Facing a Raiders team that came into the week having allowed the fourth-most Fantasy points per game to DSTs, the Chiefs DST took full advantage in Week 15, allowing 13 points on 280 yards. It had four sacks, its most since Week 8, and a fumble recovery. Of course, its biggest play was on special teams -- an 81-yard touchdown on a punt return by De'Anthony Thomas in the first quarter.
The Chiefs DST hasn't been an especially productive Fantasy unit this season, mostly because of a lack of big plays. This game was only its second in seven with double-digit Fantasy points. With an unfavorable matchup Week 16 at Pittsburgh, you can leave it for someone else.
Chiefs list LB Tamba Hali active for Oakland game
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(12/14/14) Chiefs linebacker Tamba Hali was ruled active for Sunday's game against Oakland. Hali only practiced Friday this week because of a knee injury and was deemed questionable leading up to Week 15. He has totaled 48 tackles and five sacks in 13 games played.
Solid showing not enough from Chiefs defense
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/7/14) The Chiefs defense held up their end of the bargain in Week 14, but the offense failed to do much in a 17-14 loss to the Cardinals.
The Chiefs allowed the Cardinals to score just one touchdown in the game, holding them to field goals on three drives, including one that got into the red zone. They allowed 366 yards of total offense, but failed to come up with many big plays, sacking Drew Stanton just twice while coming away with no turnovers.
The Chiefs DST unit ended the game with just 6 Fantasy points, their fourth straight in single figures. Things should get easier for them in Week 15, with the Raiders on the schedule.
Chiefs DST performs about as you'd expect
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/1/14) It could have been worse for the Chiefs defense in Week 13. Thanks to the Broncos repeatedly stalling in the red zone, it allowed "just" 29 points to one of the NFL's highest-scoring teams. But it still gave up 388 yards and was short on big plays, recording a sack and recovering a fumble.
Altogether, it was a poor showing for a defense that also failed to capitalize on a favorable matchup Week 12 at Oakland. And after losing star defensive back Eric Berry for the year, it won't be playing at full strength the rest of the way.
Even with another favorable matchup Week 14 at the Cardinals, who have been starting Drew Stanton at quarterback with Carson Palmer down, the Chiefs DST is a questionable option in Fantasy.

The Chiefs were the eighth DST off the board on average in CBSSports.com leagues last season, which makes their 17th place finish in Fantasy scoring one of the bigger disappointments at the position. They still ranked among the league leaders in sacks and points allowed, but they just couldn't come up with enough big plays to put up the kind of big numbers we've come to expect. They forced just 14 turnovers on the season, the second-lowest total in the league, one year after forcing 36 to finish second. If you split the difference between the two, it is fair to assume a finish somewhere near the middle of the pack this season, which should put the Chiefs back up to the top-10 among DSTs, which is where they should be targeted on Draft Day.
