(10/21/14) If you need to pick up and play a DST unit in Week 8, Jamey Eisenberg identifies three worth snagging in his waiver-wire column: the Colts (59 percent owned) in Pittsburgh, the Cowboys (43 percent) against Washington, and the Dolphins (36 percent) in Jacksonville.
Dolphins will slowly work Dion Jordan back into game shape
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/20/14) Dolphins defensive end Dion Jordan has served his six-game suspension and is eligible to return to practice as early as Monday, though a roster move won't be announced until later in the week, ESPN reports. The Dolphins are already deep in defensive line depth and will likely work Jordan slowly back into game shape, according to coach Joe Philbin.
"We're going to have to get him on the field and start working him and see where he's at," Philbin said. "It will be great to have him back. But we have to take it one day at a time."
Dolphins force three turnovers in easy win
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/20/14) The Dolphins shut down the Bears passing attack and came out of Week 7 with a 27-14 win Sunday.
The Bears managed just 224 yards of total offense against the Dolphins defense, which was coming off a subpar outing against the Packers. The Dolphins did a solid job pressuring the quarterback with three sacks, while forcing three turnovers in the win.
This Dolphins DST unit has been useful in stretches this season, posting four double-digit Fantasy efforts in six games. They could find more success in Week 8 against the Jaguars.
Thigh issue keeps Dolphins' Brent Grimes out late in fourth quarter
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes exited Week 7 at Chicago because of a thigh injury. Grimes left the game late in the fourth quarter and did not return. He finished with four total tackles.
The Dolphins will play the Jaguars in Jacksonville Week 8.
Another so-so effort for Dolphins DST
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/13/14) Coming off a bye, the Dolphins were just OK defensively Week 6 against Green Bay. They didn't get blown out by a strong offensive team, but they didn't shut it down either, allowing 27 points on 369 yards.
Those numbers looked a lot better before the Packers drove down the field for the game-winning score with just a few seconds to go in the fourth quarter. They had 60 yards on that drive alone.
The Dolphins had three sacks in the game, their third with at least that many. They have another tough matchup Week 7 at Chicago, so you should leave their DST on waivers for the time being.

The Dolphins DST is a good, not great Fantasy option coming into this season. The unit finished 2013 at No. 11 in Fantasy points in a standard league -- ahead of teams like the Steelers, Ravens and Giants. They had 42 sacks, six fumble recoveries, 18 interceptions and two defensive touchdowns. The strength of their defense is their pass rush with Cameron Wake and Olivier Vernon, and the Dolphins tried to improve their secondary this offseason with the addition of cornerback Cortland Finnegan and safety Louis Delmas. The Dolphins DST won't get drafted in the majority of leagues, but look for them to be one of the top bye-week replacements during the year.
