by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (12/8/13) Fantasy owners went into Week 14 with high hopes for the Raiders DST since DSTs have scored very well against the Jets recently. Unfortunately, Fantasy owners were left with a disappointing feeling as the Jets stunned the Raiders, beating them 37-27.
The Jets posted 352 yards, including 143 rushing. The Jets scored at least 10 points in three of the four quarters and even got a special teams touchdown in the second quarter after Antonio Allen blocked a punt and fell on the loose ball in the end zone.
The Raiders forced one turnover (interception) and recorded one sack in the loss. Oakland is back in action Week 15 vs. Kansas City.

The Raiders DST has a lot of work to do before Fantasy owners can count on them. In 2012, the Raiders were among the worst DST options with just 117 Fantasy points in a standard league. They had only 11 interceptions, 25 sacks and nine fumble recoveries while allowing 443 points. In the past two years, the Raiders have allowed 876 points, which is ridiculously bad. Until things start to change on defense, you canít count on the Raiders DST as anything more than a bye-week replacement in the deepest of leagues. Based on the stats, itís easy to pass on the Raiders DST on Draft Day. (Updated 4/26/13)
