Rams DST can't stop Chiefs either

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/26/14) The Rams had another poor defensive showing Week 8 at Kansas City, giving up more than 30 points for the fourth time in five games. They allowed 34, to be precise, on 361 yards. They did recover a fumble and record two sacks to give them five (of six total this season) in their last two games, but that wasn't enough to redeem the Rams DST in Fantasy.

In their last five games, the Rams have allowed an average of 31.8 points on 389.6 yards, and they don't seem to have much big-play potential on the defensive side of the ball either. You can leave the Rams on waivers for Week 9 at San Francisco.

Janoris Jenkins among Rams players inactive Week 8

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/26/14) Rams center Tim Barnes, cornerback Janoris Jenkins, cornerback Trumaine Johnson, quarterback Case Keenum, tight end Alex Bayer, defensive end Ethan Westbrooks and safety Maurice Alexander were all ruled inactive Week 8 at Kansas City.

Punt return makes Rams DST's day

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/19/14) The Rams didn't have a banner day defensively Week 7 against Seattle. OK, so they contributed three sacks after having just one in their first five games combined, but they also allowed 26 points on 463 yards. Nothing special.

No, they saved that for the special teams. Wide receiver Stedman Bailey, with the help of usual punt returner Tavon Austin, faked out the Seahawks punt unit with a 90-yard return for a touchdown in the second quarter.

Because of that, the Rams DST ended up having a pretty good day in Fantasy, scoring a season-high 11 points in standard CBSSports.com leagues.

You shouldn't count on that every week, and really, 11 points isn't that impressive of a number anyway. Leave the Rams DST on waivers for Week 8 at Kansas City.

Rams coach continues to back cornerback Janoris Jenkins

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/16/14) Rams coach Jeff Fisher offered a vote of confidence Wednesday for cornerback Janoris Jenkins, who was beat for two touchdowns during a loss Monday against the 49ers.

"He's playing corner, it's the hardest position to play in this league," Fisher said. "The great part about him is that he's got a short memory. He doesn't let those things bother him. He doesn't make mistakes on purpose, understands our defense. I have no concern with his production and his play at this point."

Not getting any better for Rams DST

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/14/14) The Rams DST entered the 2014 season with so much promise, but it continued to flounder Week 6 against San Francisco, giving up 31 points on a season-high 432 yards. It was the fourth time in five games that it allowed more than 30 points.

Most disappointing has been the Rams' pass rush. It again went without a sack in Week 6 and has only one all season. The second-worst team in that category has five. While the Rams did have a takeaway in this game, recovering a fumble in the first quarter, they're only 21st in that category as well.

Basically, nothing good can come from starting the Rams DST in Fantasy. It doesn't have a particularly good matchup with the Seahawks coming to town in Week 7, so you can leave it on waivers.
