49ers DST has throwback performance
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/29/14) After a couple of so-so performances the last couple weeks, the 49ers showed they've still got it on the defensive side of the ball Week 4 against Philadelphia, limiting one of the league's most prolific offenses over the first three weeks to 21 points on 213 yards. They intercepted quarterback Nick Foles twice and sacked him once. They also recovered two fumbles.

The four turnovers equaled their total from Week 1 at Dallas, but they had a total of one in the two games in between.

The 49ers DST has what should be a favorable matchup Week 5 against Kansas City, so now isn't the time to shy away from it.

Antoine Bethea does it all Week 4
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/28/14) 49ers safety Antoine Bethea, making his 100th career start, was a dominant force Week 4 against the Eagles. He led the team with seven tackles, all solo, and forced two turnovers.

Bethea intercepted an underthrown pass from Nick Foles, and he jarred the ball loose from tight end Zach Ertz following a reception. Bethea, who came into the game dealing with an ankle injury, has 15 interceptions and six forced fumbles in his career.

He'll play the Chiefs in Week 5.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(9/26/14) 49ers safety Antoine Bethea was a late edition to the injury report leading up to Week 4 against Philadelphia. Bethea missed practice on Friday because of an ankle injury and has been deemed questionable for Sunday. He has compiled 13 tackles through three games this season.

49ers allow 17 second-half points in Week 3 loss
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/21/14) The 49ers defense allowed 17 second-half points Sunday, and the Cardinals stormed back for a 23-14 win Week 3. Arizona finished with 338 yards, which included 84 rushing yards.

San Francisco held Arizona to a pair of first-half field goals before rookie wide receiver John Brown had touchdown catches of 21 and 24 yards in the third quarter to put Arizona ahead.

The 49ers did force a fumble of wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald in the red zone in the fourth quarter. However, they recorded no sacks and no interceptions in the loss.

San Francisco is back in action Week 4 vs. Philadelphia.
