Gruden added Orakpo didn't suffer a fully torn pectoral muscle, but it was torn enough to require surgery. Orakpo finishes the season with 24 tackles (14 solo), one pass defense and 1/2 sack.
Redskins come through against backup QB
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/19/14) The Redskins looked good on the defensive side of the ball for once Week 7 against the Titans. Of course, the fact they were facing a backup quarterback in Charlie Whitehurst, who could manage only 160 yards through the air against them, likely had something to do with it.
The Redskins allowed 17 points on 236 yards to finish with double-digit Fantasy points (according to standard CBSSports.com scoring) for just the second time this season. The other was their 10-sack performance against the Jaguars in Week 2.
They had only one sack in this one to give them six apart from that one incredible game. They also recorded an interception and recovered a fumble.
They won't be facing a backup quarterback Week 8 at Dallas, though. In fact, they'll be facing one of the hottest teams in the league. You should probably avoid the Redskins DST in Fantasy.
Redskins LB Brian Orakpo headed for MRI Monday
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo will undergo an MRI Monday after leaving Sunday's game due to an injury. Orakpo was originally diagnosed with a shoulser injury, but he will get an MRI for a pectoral injury, according to CSNWashington.com.

The Redskins DST has a lot of work to do before Fantasy owners can trust them this season. They struggled in 2013 with just 16 interceptions, 36 sacks, nine fumble recoveries and five defensive touchdowns. Washington lost London Fletcher to retirement, but the Redskins added Jason Hatcher, rookie Trent Murphy, Ryan Clark and Tracy Porter to help their pass rush and secondary. Still, we're not expecting a dramatic turnaround this year, so go into the season with the Redskins DST as a No. 2 Fantasy option. Keep an eye on the Redskins DST early in the season, and if they start out playing well consider adding them off the waiver wire.
