by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer (12:44 am ET) The last time the Redskins DST scored double-digit Fantasy points was Week 8 at Denver -- not so coincidentally, the last time it contributed a touchdown. That's five straight games with single-digit Fantasy points. The Redskins have allowed the opposing team to score at least 24 points in each of those games.
Unfortunately, the trend is unlikely to end Week 14 against Kansas City. The Chiefs are far from an offensive juggernaut, ranking ninth in total points and 16th in total yards, but they play efficient football. As a result, they've allowed the third-fewest Fantasy points to DSTs this season.
Jamey Eisenberg, Dave Richard and Nathan Zegura don't see any reason for you to gamble on the Redskins DST in Fantasy this week. None of the three even bothered to rank it.
Redskins' starting safeties miss practice
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (12/4/13) Redskins safeties Brandon Meriweather (sternum contusion) and Reed Doughty (concussion) missed practice Wednesday ahead of Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. Doughty could have gone through positional drills, but the team decided to hold him out, reports the Washington Post.
Brian Orakpo on a sack tear
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (12/2/13) Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo had a pair of sacks in the Week 13 loss to the Giants, giving him 5 1/2 sacks in his last four games. Orakpo finished with six tackles, four solo.
Up to 8 1/2 sacks this season, Orakpo plays the Chiefs in Week 14.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com (12/2/13) Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said linebacker London Fletcher suffered a sprained ankle late in Sunday's loss against the Giants. He said he would know more about Fletcher's status Wednesday.
Redskins give up at least 24 points for 11th time
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (12/2/13) The Redskins held the Giants to 286 total yards Week 13. But the Redskins' 24-17 home loss marked the 11th time in 12 games Washington surrendered at least 24 points.
Washington got three sacks, two by linebacker Brian Orakpo, and safety Brandon Meriweather's second interception this season. Still, the Redskins DST did not disrupt Eli Manning too much as he completed a season-high 78.6 percent of his throws.
Washington plays the Chiefs in Week 14.

The Redskins DST has plenty of work to do this year after a disappointing campaign in 2012. The Redskins were among the NFL leaders with 21 interceptions, but they struggled to create sacks (32), fumbles (nine) or score touchdowns (four). Getting Brian Orakpo and Adam Carriker back from injury will definitely help the pass rush, and their presence alone could make the Redskins DST a sleeper. Keep an eye on the Redskins DST early in the season, and if they start out playing well consider adding them off the waiver wire. (Updated 4/26/13)
