by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer (5/8/14) With the No. 29 pick in the NFL Draft, the Patriots selected defensive tackle Dominique Easley from Florida.
Easley, who is 6-foot-2, 288 pounds, suffered two ACL tears in college. He came back from a left ACL tear in 2011, then blew out his right ACL last September.
When healthy, Easley has exceptional quickness, constantly playing on the other side of the line of scrimmage. He will provide the Patriots defense and Patriots DST with depth as a rotation player behind Vince Wilfork and Tommy Kelly.
Browner is set to serve a four-game suspension to start the season. He played just eight games last season with the Seahawks due to the suspension. He finished with 19 tackles and one interception, and has 10 interceptions in 36 career games.
Darrelle Revis agrees to one-year deal with Patriots
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (3/12/14) The Patriots have agreed to a one-year deal with free-agent corner Darrelle Revis Wednesday according to ESPN.com, just hours after he was released by the Buccaneers. Revis will be taking a paycut while maintaining long-term flexibility, as the deal will pay him $12 million for 2014.
Revis had a solid 2013 season with the Buccaneers, recording 50 tackles and two interceptions while playing in all 16 games after recovering from knee surgery. He will replace the recently departed Aqib Talib for the Patriots, with one Pro-Bowl corner stepping in for another.
Spikes appeared on the NFL Network on Friday and said "both sides could benefit from a fresh start." He also added that his injured knee is "100 percent."
Spikes, who had 86 tackles during the 2013 season, was placed on injured reserve in advance of the AFC divisional round in part due to missing a team meeting. Spikes also was dealing with a knee issue during the latter part of the season.
Wilfork, 32, is currently entering the final year of his contract with a large cap number at $11.6 million. He also is recovering from an Achilles tear.
The Patriots view Wilfork as a central focus of their defense. A contract extension would not only lock up Wilfork for the future, it could afford the team salary-cap flexibility.

The Patriots DST has the potential to be great in 2014, and the additions of Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner could give them a dominant secondary. New England lost Aqib Talib to the Broncos this offseason, but getting Revis and Browner is a huge upgrade. The Patriots also get Jerod Mayo (pectoral), Vince Wilfork (Achilles) and Tommy Kelly (ACL) back from injury, along with drafting defensive tackle Dominique Easley in the first round, and they should be able to improve on their No. 12 finish in Fantasy points from 2013. The Patriots had 17 interceptions, 48 sacks, 12 fumble recoveries and three defensive touchdowns last year, which was the third time in the past four seasons that they were a Top 12 Fantasy unit. Go into the season with the Patriots as a Top 10 Fantasy option, and they are worth drafting with a late-round pick. They could emerge as a Top 5 option, especially with a great secondary in a division against erratic quarterbacks like Ryan Tannehill, Michael Vick/Geno Smith and EJ Manuel.
