(12/14/14) The Texans defense held up their end of the bargain in slowing down the Colts in Week 15, but it wasn't enough in a 17-10 loss.
The Texans held the high-powered Colts offense to just 278 yards, a bit improvement over the 456-yard effort the Colts managed in Week 6. The Texans came up with one huge play early, as Kendrick Lewis scored on a 27-yard interception return. They finished the game with two turnovers and two sacks.
The Texans' DST unit has been a model of consistency, scoring in double figures in Fantasy points in all but two games this season. They will look to close the season out strong, with a tough matchup against the Ravens on the way in Week 16.
Texans' strong run continues with win

(12/7/14) The Texans DST unit came up with another strong performance in Week 14, a 27-13 win over the Jaguars.
The Texans gave up 13 first-half points to the Jaguars, but shut them out completely in the second half. The Jaguars ended up with just 262 yards of total offense in the game, while quarterback Blake Bortles was sacked four times and surrendered one interception.
The Texans have now picked up double digits in Fantasy points in each of their last six games, a streak they will likely struggle to extend in Week 15 against the Colts. They had 13 Fantasy points against the Colts in Week 6, but opposing DST units are averaging just 6.6 against them overall.

(12/1/14) Texans coach Bill O'Brien told reporters cornerback Kareem Jacksoncould be back in the starting lineup Sunday against Jacksonville, the Houston Chronicle reports. Jackson missed the previous three games because of a knee injury.
"I do believe it's day to day but I feel better about his chances of playing this week than I did at this time last week," O'Brien said.
Interceptions make Texans' day

(11/30/14) The Texans equaled a season high with three interceptions against Titans quarterbacks Zach Mettenberger and Jake Locker en route to a 45-21 victory Week 13 against Tennessee. They also had three sacks and one fumble recovery, limiting the Titans to 320 yards.
It was a predictable effort for a Texans DST that has been one of the most reliable in Fantasy this season, scoring double-digit Fantasy points in 11 of 13 games. The Texans have benefited from some favorable matchups recently, but with the most favorable one of all Week 14 at Jacksonville, you'll want to keep their DST active.
Texans LB Jadeveon Clowney 'somewhat' affected by knee injury
"Somewhat," Clowney said. "Some things are holding me back still but I'm just out here trying to do what I can do and have fun. You never know if you’re going to have an injury or not coming into the league. So when that happened to me, it was a setback. I'm just trying to do everything I need to do to get back to where I need to be to help the team out."

Perhaps the biggest shocker from 2013 was the Texans DST, loaded with talent, finish as the worst DST in Fantasy Football. Don't expect it again in 2014. The team switched defensive coordinators and will lean on Romeo Crennel, who says he'll use multiple fronts to keep offenses guessing. The Texans already had a strong front seven but added linebacker Jadeveon Clowney in the NFL draft, giving them a unit that should generate a ton of pressure on the quarterback. They also have a schedule devoid of elite quarterbacks including matchups in the first four weeks against Washington, Oakland, the Giants and the Bills, so there's a real good chance they'll come out of the gate hot and potentially rebound to at least a decent Fantasy option. It would not be a mistake to invest a pick in the last two rounds of the draft in the Texans.
