by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer (3/6/14) The Texans plan to cut linebacker Evan Frierson, reports FOX Sports.
The report says Frierson, who spent 2013 on injured reserve, is being cut because the new coaching staff in Houston is "going in a different direction."

Texans end disaster season with solid showing on D
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (12/29/13) The Texans' season mercifully came to an end in Week 17, with a 16-10 loss to the Titans.
Facing a backup quarterback, the Texans defense held its own for much of the game. The Titans were forced to kick three field goals in the game, and managed just 311 yards of total offense. The Texans' defense did a solid job, but also forced just one turnover and had only one sack, as they lacked in big plays.
The Texans had a disastrous season on both sides of the ball, despite the talent on hand. This DST unit was one of the lowest scoring in the league this season, and will be considered a low-end Fantasy option next season.
Texans list baker's dozen as probable for Sunday
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com (12/27/13) Thirteen Texans have been deemed probable for the last game of the year, including wide receiver Andre Johnson (wrist) and quarterback T.J. Yates (back).
The Texans DST has become one of the top options in Fantasy, but they're not at the top like they were last season. True, the unit had 48 sacks with 16 interceptions, 17 forced fumbles (14 recovered) and five touchdowns, but they lost a couple of key starters in free agency (Glover Quin, Connor Barwin) and might have a hard time replacing them. Then again, they'll get Brian Cushing back from injury and if he's working alongside Brooks Reed, J.J. Watt and second-year man Whitney Mercilus then they'll have one of the most dangerous front sevens in the league. The Texans are still worth a late-round pick as a quality Fantasy option.
