Cardinals' Carson Palmer tosses two touchdowns Week 7

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer threw two touchdowns Week 7 against the Raiders.

Palmer completed 22 of 31 attempts for 253 yards and two scores. He was consistently able to find his targets down the field, posting 8.2 yards per attempt. It wasn't all perfect, as Palmer turned the ball over once on an interception, and took one sack. For the most part, though, Palmer was solid. He was able to find Andre Ellington on shorter gains, while also hitting Michael Floyd and John Brown on longer plays.

Palmer will look for more Week 8 against the Eagles.

Carson Palmer looks healthy enough to use

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/14/14) Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer was plenty productive Week 6 against Washington, completing 28 of 44 passes for 250 yards and two touchdowns in a rather abrupt return from a shoulder nerve issue that caused him to miss three games.

That makes Palmer 2 for 2 in throwing for 250 yards and two touchdowns this season. You'll take that in Fantasy.

Coach Bruce Arians' comments Monday make Palmer even more attractive in Fantasy. He said 44 attempts will be the norm for him with the way defenses stack the box against the Cardinals. With wide receiver Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald at his disposal, Palmer certainly has the weapons to make the most of all those throws.

He won't play mistake-free football all season -- he threw 22 interceptions last year, to put it in perspective -- but if you feel like your starting quarterback is bringing you down, he's in a situation to put up consistent numbers if his shoulder continues to feel good.

You have to like his matchup Week 7 at Oakland. Jamey Eisenberg and Dave Richard both have him in their top 12 for the contest. Though the Raiders rank a modest 11th against the pass, that's just because they're so busy getting beat by the run. They've allowed the fourth-highest passer rating of any team this season.

Bruce Arians: 44 pass attempts the 'norm'

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(10/13/14) Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said Carson Palmer's 44 pass attempts Week 6 should be considered "the norm," reports ESPN.com.

"When we have it that many times and they stack the box like that to stop the run, then we're going to throw the football," Arians said. "When he says he's OK, we're going to go with it."

Palmer had missed the three previous games with a nerve problem in his throwing shoulder, but reportedly felt great after Sunday's win over the Redskins. Palmer threw 37 times in the season opener, his only other outing this year.

The Cardinals averaged 35.9 pass attempts last year. They ranked 10th in the league by throwing 60.5 percent of the time.

Cardinals' Carson Palmer feels good Monday after return to lineup

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/13/14) Cardinals coach Bruce Arians said quarterback Carson Palmer was feeling good Monday after attempting 44 passes during a win Sunday against the Redskins. Palmer returned to the lineup Week 6 after missing three games due to a shoulder injury.

Report: Carson Palmer to start at QB for Cardinals Sunday

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/12/14) Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, who has missed the last three games due to a shoulder injury, is expected to return to the lineup and start Week 6 vs. Washington, according to NFL.com. ESPN also reports Palmer is most likely to start Sunday.
