Tony Romo still working on footwork
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/16/14) Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said quarterback Tony Romo, who has completed only one pass longer than 20 yards, is still working on his footwork following December back surgery.

"Probably this idea of turning on the run, getting the rust off, has to do with the footwork," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "Anybody that's played golf, anybody that's been around guys in their hitting slumps, if you want to refer to baseball, knows that footwork all works together there. I think that's what you're seeing."

Some of Romo's passes have lacked velocity, though he made some big throws in Sunday's win at Tennessee. Among them, Romo hit Dez Bryant for 18 yards on 3rd-and-15.

Tony Romo has turnover-free game in Week 2 win
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo bounced back from a three-interception performance Week 1 to play turnover-free football Week 2, leading Dallas to a lead 26-10 win at Tennessee. The veteran quarterback completed 19 of 29 passes for 176 yards and one touchdown.

Most of Romo's production went to star wide receiver Dez Bryant, who finished with 10 catches for 103 yards and one touchdown. Bryant had a 3-yard touchdown catch late in the third quarter, which gave Dallas a 23-10 lead. Romo targeted Bryant 14 times and no other Dallas player had more than 32 receiving yards.

Romo managed to avoid a turnover despite being under constant pressure all day. He was sacked four times in the win. Dallas will be back in action Week 3 at St. Louis.

Tony Romo, Terrance Williams in lineup Week 2

(9/14/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (back) and wide receiver Terrance Williams (back) were cleared to play Week 2 at Tennessee. Both players were listed as probable.
Tony Romo: 'I expect us to play better moving forward'
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/11/14) After a disappointing Week 1 performance, which included three interceptions, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has faced a lot of questions about his health coming off back surgery. But Romo contends he is doing just fine heading into Week 2 against the Titans.

"I feel good," Romo said, per The Dallas Morning News. "I was very disappointed in just the way that we played early in that game last week, but coming off it, the one thing that I’m excited about moving forward is the health aspect of being able to come back and be able to continue to work on things and get better because you have that. I am excited about that, and I expect us to play better moving forward."

The Cowboys haven't started 0-2 since 2010. They finished 6-10 that season. Romo talked about the importance of bouncing back Sunday.

"We have to play our best football," he said. "This is a very important game. We understand that we’re going on the road against a very, very good defense. I don’t know if they’re No. 1 in the league, but they’ve got to be pretty darn close. It’s going to be a great test for us. When you watch them on tape, they’re playing some great football. It’s going to be difficult, but we’ve got to go in there and do what we need to do and try to figure out a way to get a win."

Tony Romo: I wasn't mentally sharp
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(9/10/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo blamed a lack of mental sharpness for his three-interception performance Week 1. "Physically, I did a lot of things well," he told the Dallas Morning News.

"Mentally, I felt like I wasn't as sharp as I needed to be in the football game. That's what stood out to me."

Romo said he gained a lot from watching film that will benefit him Week 2 at Tennessee.
