Tony Romo's TD streak ends in disastrous performance

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/27/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo saw his streak of 38 straight games with a touchdown pass come to an end Thursday against the Eagles. Looking uncomfortable in the pocket and missing some easy throws, Romo completed 18 of 29 passes for 199 yards with two interceptions.

He took four sacks and seemed eager to avoid big hits to his surgically-repaired back.

Both of Romo's interceptions came on underthrown balls, and he also underthrew Dez Bryant on a potential big gainer. But Romo often had no one open to throw to.

He'll try to bounce back next Thursday at Chicago.

Tony Romo benefiting from better supporting cast

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/25/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is playing some of the best football of his career. He's thrown 22 touchdowns against three interceptions since the first half of the season opener against San Francisco.

Coach Jason Garrett said a number of factors are at play. "I think a lot of it has to do with the supporting cast," Garrett told the Dallas Morning News. "I think we're protecting better. We're running the ball better. He's got a lot of different weapons at his disposal. He's just doing a good job seeing the defense and throwing it to the right guy."

Tony Romo participates in Monday walkthrough

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/24/14) Coming off a four-touchdown performance Sunday night, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo participated in Monday's walkthrough ahead of Thursday's showdown with the Eagles. Romo typically misses early-week practices to manage his injured back.

"I don't know that we're going to have much time to go too hard," Romo said, via ESPN.com. "I think if you're playing in football games, I'm sure you can make it through walkthroughs."

Tony Romo a lock going forward

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(11/24/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw a season-high four touchdown passes Week 12 against the Giants, giving him four in a game for the first time since he had five in Week 5 last year. But nearly one-fourth of his Fantasy owners missed out on it, having sat him for ... well, who knows?

Who would be justifiable? Peyton Manning, sure. Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady also make sense. I could even understand Drew Brees, given his history. But beyond that is a pretty tough sell. True, even with this performance, Romo ranks only 13th among quarterbacks in standard CBSSports.com leagues, but it's pretty bunchy after the top three. And if Brady gets elevated for recent performance, so should Romo.

Beginning in Week 3, he has thrown for multiple scores in every game but one, making him the ninth-best quarterback in standard CBSSports.com leagues during that stretch. And that's with him missing a game due to injury. Going by Fantasy points per game instead of just total points, he jumps two more spots to seventh, and two of the quarterbacks ahead of him are Ben Roethlisberger, whose numbers are mostly the product of an insane two-game stretch, and Russell Wilson, who has tailed off significantly after a hot start.

Now look at Romo's matchups coming up. The Eagles, Bears and Eagles again give him three bottom-five pass defenses over the next three weeks, and the Colts in Week 16 aren't far off. Safe to say he should be a fixture in your lineup going forward.

Tony Romo practicing Thursday as expected

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/20/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (back) returned to practice Thursday as expected after sitting out Wednesday's session per his usual routine, reports the team's website. Dallas visits the Giants on Sunday night.
