Tony Romo 'on track to come back better than ever'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4/6/14) Cowboys tight end Jason Witten said quarterback Tony Romo's recovery from back surgery is going well. "I think he's moving good," Witten said, per Fox Sports. "He's right on track to come back better than ever I assume.

"He's recovering well and it seems like he's excited to get back and get healthy," Witten added. "I think all of us are eager to get going. I can't really speak for him but I think everything's on track and we're excited for the offseason. We know exactly what we have to do."

Tony Romo not throwing to receivers yet
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/25/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is ahead of schedule in his rehab from back surgery, according to owner Jerry Jones, but he hasn't started throwing to receivers and likely will be limited when the offseason program starts April 21, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

"We expected him to be where he is now and he is ahead of that," Jones told the paper. "He is ahead of expectations. He is ahead of where we expected him to be. Can he do the throwing motion? Is he doing the throwing motion? Yes. Is he out there throwing to receivers right now? No. He is not throwing to receivers."

Kyle Orton expected to return to Cowboys
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/24/14) After talking to Kyle Orton's agent, Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said he expects the 31-year-old quarterback to play in 2014, reports the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Orton, who had considered retiring, is set to make $3.25 million in the final year of his contract.
Tony Romo says back rehab is going well
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/9/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo told ESPN his rehab from back surgery is "going good" and he's on track to be ready for next month's OTAs. "Really ahead in a lot of ways," he said. "Just going to be ready to go here in about a month and rehab is going good, no setbacks of any kind."

Romo had December surgery to fix a herniated disk.

"You progress, everything is a progression," he said. "You kinda, whatever it is, whether it's running or lifting, everything just starts small and you progress up. So we've already started a lot of that stuff [rehab] going. Now it's just going to the next step every week or two and just attacking. For me, it's like anything else, just another thing to attack and improve and I'm always up for that."

Tony Romo 'absolutely ecstatic' about Scott Linehan hiring
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/23/14) Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is "absolutely ecstatic" about the team's decision to hire play caller Scott Linehan, owner Jerry Jones told the Dallas Morning News, adding Romo "will have more" power in shaping the offense than he did last season. Jones said coach Jason Garrett essentially served as offensive coordinator last year but this season the buck stops with Linehan.
