Ryan Tannehill grappling with 'learning curve'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(5/28/14) Under new offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill is learning a new system for the first time in his three-year NFL career. Miami's former offensive coordinator, Mike Sherman, was the head coach at Texas A&M when Tannehill played there.

Lazor's system features multiple formations, an up-tempo style and quick-hitting plays, according to ESPN.com.

"There’s still a learning curve. It’s not going to come overnight," Tannehill told the website. "It’s going to take some time, not just for me but for all of our guys. The receivers are running routes that they haven’t run before doing adjustments that we haven’t done before, so there’s going to be a learning curve, but that’s what this time is for."

Ryan Tannehill: Learning new offense 'a big task'
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/24/14) Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill said he spoke to new coordinator Bill Lazor and found out the offense "definitely will be different," according to the Miami Herald. "It’s a completely different system. Bill runs a numbers system. Coach [Mike] Sherman was a West Coast-style system.

"Everything is going to have a different name," Tannehill added. "It’s going to be re-programmed in my brain to work in a different way. It’s a big task.”

Tannehill said he's excited to work with Lazor. “He’s a fun guy to work with. Just his personality coming in seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun," the quarterback said. "I’m looking forward to when we can get into learning the offense. I’m just waiting on that date. ... I’m really looking forward to taking a big step this year.”

Ryan Tannehill flops in must-win closer
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/29/13) Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill turned in his second subpar performance in a row to finish the season Sunday, in a 20-7 loss to the Jets in Week 17. The loss ended Miami's playoff chances.

Tannehill completed just 20 of 39 passes for 204 yards, narrowly avoiding a second straight game with a sub-50.0 percent completion percentage. He threw one touchdown, a 5-yarder to Mike Wallace in the second quarter, but followed it up with a trio of costly interceptions in the second half.

Despite the disappointing finish, Tannehill still made strides in his second season in the league. He finishes with 3,913 yards with 24 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, while completing 60.5 percent of his passes.

Dolphins healthy for Sunday game
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/27/13) The Dolphins have placed 10 players on their Friday injury report, but only running back Daniel Thomas (ankle) is questionable for the critical battle against the Jets. The others are probable, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill (knee). The other offensive players are wide receivers Brian Hartline (knee) and Marlon Moore (wrist).

The defensive probables are defensive backs Jamar Taylor (hamstring), Don Jones (elbow/abdomen) and Chris Clemons (knee/hamstring), linebacker Koa Misi (triceps) and tackles Jared Odrick (wrist) and Paul Soliai (ankle).

Matt Moore tosses two picks in relief
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/22/13) Dolphins backup quarterback Matt Moore was pressed into duty in Week 16 against the Bills Sunday, thanks to ineffectiveness and injury to starter Ryan Tannehill in a 19-0 loss.

Moore entered the game in the fourth quarter for one drive in place of Tannehill, who went down with a knee injury. He completed one 50-yard pass, and was also intercepted to end that drive.

Tannehill returned to the game briefly, but was ultimately taken out for the final drive. Moore ended up finishing the game with 53 yards on 2 of 6 passing, with a pair of interceptions.

Tannehill's late exit was likely a result of his poor play, rather than the knee injury. Moore will likely be back on the bench in Week 17, when the Dolphins face the Jets to finish the season.
