Dolphins attribute read option to Ryan Tannehill's recent success

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/20/14) Dolphins offensive coordinator Bill Lazor credited quarterback Ryan Tannehill's ability to successfully run the read option as a reason for his team's success as of late. Tannehill completed his first 14 pass attempts and finished 25 for 32 with 277 yards and two scores in a 27-14 victory over the Bears in Week 7.

"Every day, practice and games, he gets better at it," Lazor said, per the Palm Beach Post. "He's confident in it. It helped us win the game."

In the past six quarters, Tannehill has completed 37 of 47 attempts for 437 yards, with four touchdown passes. He's also carried the ball seven times for 88 yards and a score.

Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill has near-flawless outing Week 7

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill got back on track with a near-flawless performance, firing two touchdown passes in a Week 8 victory at Chicago.

Tannehill hooked up with Charles Clay for a 13-yard touchdown strike in the opening quarter and fopund Mike Wallace for a 10-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. He started the game by completing his first 14 pass attempts and finished 25 for 32 on the afternoon with 277 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-14 victory. He was sacked four times and rushed for 48 yards on six carries.

Tannehill will look to keep rolling Week 8 at Jacksonville.

Good things happen when Ryan Tannehill runs

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill's ability to make plays with his legs had been downplayed in the team's offense early in the season, but he has been unleashed over the last three weeks, to great effect.

Tannehill rushed for 48 yards in the team's 27-14 win over the Bears, the third game in a row he has racked up at least 35. He had just 18 in the first three games of the season combined. The increased reliance on his running skills has opened things up for Tannehill, who is now riding arguably the best three-game stretch of his career.

Tannehill tossed two more touchdowns to go with 277 yards through the air Sunday, and has now topped 20 Fantasy points in each of his last three games. This is just the second time in his career he has accomplished that feat, with the last coming from Weeks 13 through 15 last season.

Tannehill has racked up 35 or more rushing yards eight times in his career, and has 15 passing touchdowns and eight interceptions in those games. Impressively, he is averaging 22.4 Fantasy points per game in those games, which establishes a clear pattern -- just ask the Miami Herald's Adam Beasley.

Tannehill played receiver before earning the quarterback job in college, so his athleticism is no secret. Now that the Dolphins are making use of it more often, he makes for an intriguing Fantasy player. He could be a solid starting option in Week 8 against the Jaguars.

Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill passes for 227 yards in Week 6 defeat

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(10/12/14) Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill bounced back from a rough start Sunday, but it wasn't enough in his team's 27-24 defeat to the Packers at home in Week 6.

Tannehill was picked off by Casey Hayward and Sam Shields and was limited to 84 passing yards in the first half. He bounced back with touchdown passes to Jarvis Landry -- from 11 yards out -- in the third quarter and to Mike Wallace -- from 5 yards out -- in the fourth quarter.

Tannehill compiled 227 yards through the air while completing 19 of 30 passes. He added two touchdowns and two interceptions, registering a 80.8 passer rating. He was sacked only once and finished with 49 rushing yards on three attempts.

The Dolphins will travel to Chicago to face the Bears in Week 7.

Ryan Tannehill and Dolphins facing touch matchup with Packers

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/8/14) Coming off his best performance of the season, Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill could be forced to sling the ball around a lot in Week 6. Should Fantasy owners expect him to find much success against the Packers this Sunday?

The Packers have seen their last three opponents throw the ball at least 34 times against them, but the results have not been good for those passers. Between Jay Cutler, Matthew Stafford and Christian Ponder -- one of these things is not like the other -- the trio combined for just 34 Fantasy points against the Packers over the last three games, with three total touchdowns to seven turnovers.

The Packers have more than held their own in pass defense so far this season, forcing eight turnovers by quarterbacks to six touchdowns. As a result, their 15.2 Fantasy points per game allowed mark ranks third in the league.

Tannehill has been solid through four games, but has yet to have a truly huge Fantasy performance. Given the tough matchup, search for better options and leave Tannehill for two-QB leagues.
