Eli Manning posts sixth career 400-yard game
|by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst|
|(12/28/14) Giants quarterback Eli Manning completed 28 of 53 throws for 429 yards and a touchdown with an interception Week 17 against the Eagles, his sixth career 400-yard passing game. Manning finished the season with 12 touchowns and three picks in his last six games as he clicked with dominant rookie receiver Odell Beckham.
Manning found Beckham for a 63-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, Beckham's 12th score in 12 games. Manning seemed rejuvenated by the rookie and could have a healthy Victor Cruz joining Beckham, Rueben Randle and tight end Larry Donnell next season.
Manning is signed for one more year at $17 million.
Odell Beckham making Eli Manning a stud

|(12/22/14) Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham had another eight catches for 148 yards and two touchdowns Week 16 at St. Louis, which has become par for the course for him. It was his second straight game and third game in five with more than 140 receiving yards and multiple scores.
What you may not have noticed, though, is that quarterback Eli Manning has taken off during that same stretch. He had a season-high 391 yards and three touchdowns in Week 16, completing 25 of 32 passes. Over his last five games, he has averaged 297.2 yards with 11 touchdowns and two interceptions.
It stands to reason, of course. Beckham couldn't be putting up all those numbers without someone throwing him the ball. This may be one of those rare cases of the wide receiver making the quarterback as opposed to the other way around. Beckham is clearly a special talent, and Manning has made a point to deliver him the ball as often as possible.
It's reason enough to give Manning another chance Week 17 against Philadelphia if you've been suffering with Matthew Stafford or Colin Kaepernick and are somehow still alive in spite of it.
Good times ahead for Eli Manning?

|(11/24/14) Because of one especially awful game Week 11 against San Francisco in which he threw five interceptions, Eli Manning's stock isn't as high as it should be in Fantasy right now, but remove it from the equation and you'll see his production has gone up a notch since rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham replaced an injured Victor Cruz in the starting lineup.
It was especially evident in Week 12 when, aided by Beckham's spectacular one-handed catch falling into the end zone, Manning threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns. But it was nothing new for him. He has averaged 307.0 yards with nine touchdown passes in four games with Cruz out of the picture -- again, removing Week 11 from the equation.
It's not so surprising, really, given the effort he has made to deliver Beckham the ball, targeting him an average of 11.0 times over the last four weeks. If you have faith in Beckham to continue to deliver -- and after that catch Sunday, how could you not? -- then to some extent, you should have faith in Manning as well.
His position is much deeper, of course, so you have to weigh the downside as well as the upside with him. But given his matchups over the next few weeks, including Week 13 at Jacksonville, Manning is at least usable in 12-team leagues to close out the season.
Giants QB Eli Manning turns in average day Week 10

|(11/9/14) Giants quarterback Eli Manning turned in an average game Week 10 against the Seahawks.
Manning completed 29 of 44 passes for 283 yards and one touchdown. He threw one interception, ending a streak of 177 passes without a pick. That was the longest such streak of Manning's career. He also lost a fumble during the contest.
Manning actually did a nice job keeping the Giants in the game until the end of the third quarter. With under a minute left, Manning was picked off on a deep pass to the end zone. At that point, the Seahawks completely dominated. Manning couldn't keep the pace, not scoring the rest of the game.
Manning will take on the 49ers in his next start.
Eli Manning looking to keep rolling

|(11/7/14) Giants quarterback Eli Manning is enjoying a solid stretch of games, as he puts a four-game streak without an interception on the line against an opportunistic Seahawks defense in Week 10.
Manning has 20-plus Fantasy points in each of his last two games and five of the last six, with just two games below 19 points under his belt all season long. He will look to keep that going against a Seahawks defense that looks a bit less difficult than it did at the start of the season. Opposing quarterbacks are averaging 18.0 Fantasy points per game against the Seahawks, with multiple touchdowns in six of eight games so far.
Manning has taken to the new offense in New York well, and could eclipse his season total in touchdowns from last season (16) during the course of Sunday's game. Playing in Seattle is always a tough test, but Manning is playing well enough to be considered a No. 2 Fantasy option this week.
