Giants set unrealistic goal for Eli Manning
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/28/14) Giants quarterbacks coach Danny Langsdorf would like Eli Manning to complete 70 percent of his passes this year. While Manning is focused on improving his accuracy and will take fewer deep shots, the goal is unrealistic.

Manning has a career completion percentage of 58.5 and his career-best was 62.9 percent in 2010.

"We'd love to be up there at 70 percent," Langsdorf said, via the New York Daily News. "It hasn't been done very often. That's the ultimate goal. We'd like to raise his completion percentage for sure."

Only four players in NFL history have posted a completion percentage above 70. Manning has completed 70 percent of his throws in a single game just 15 times in 10 seasons.

"The high 60s is kind of the goal, to be in the top of the league," Manning said. "Sure it's realistic. It's a combination of the offense and the players we have."

Eli Manning declares his ankle is 100 percent
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/21/14) Giants quarterback Eli Manning underwent arthroscopic ankle surgery April 10 but says his ankle already feels 100 percent, reports Newsday. "I feel good, I feel strong, I feel ready to go full speed," Manning said.

The Giants will hold their first practice Tuesday.

Eli Manning 'reenergized' by new offense
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/14/14) Giants quarterback Eli Manning played 10 years in Kevin Gilbride's offensive system. He told the New York Daily News that learning the new offense installed by first-year coordinator Ben McAdoo has reinvigorated him.

"It’s reenergized me," Manning said. "I’m trying to speed up the process of getting comfortable in the new system. I don’t have 10 years. I have a few months."

Despite undergoing arthroscopic ankle surgery April 10, Manning said he has not been limited during offseason workouts. Giants' training camp begins July 22.

QB coach working on Eli Manning's mechanics
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(7/8/14) New Giants quarterback coach Danny Langsdorf is focusing on Eli Manning's fundamentals and footwork.

"We’ve spent a lot of time fundamentally throughout the spring, both footwork and everything from ball fakes, ball handling to throwing accurately to dropping back," Langsdorf, the former Oregon State offensive coordinator, told The Star-Ledger.

"There’s a little bit different of footwork that we’re using, some of the routes that he’s used to, and we’re timing it up with the receivers so there’s a little bit of fundamental work but he’s a veteran guy and a pro that’s had success for a long time so we’re not doing anything, drastic changes, but just trying to fine-tune and tweak a few things."

Manning threw 18 touchdowns and a career-high 27 interceptions last season.

Eli Manning says his ankle feels 100 percent
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(5/13/14) Just one month removed from ankle surgery, Giants quarterback Eli Manning said he feels 100 percent though "the trainers tell me I'm not," reports the New York Daily News. He's already doing football drills and took half the practice reps in Monday's workout, the report said.

"I already feel like I can go out there and do everything," Manning said. “We’ll still be smart about it these next few weeks and not overdo anything. If they want to limit me somewhat, I’ll understand that. But I want to take every single rep and they know that."
