|Eli Manning highly accurate Week 13 |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(12/1/13) Giants quarterback Eli Manning completed a season-best 78.6 percent of his throws in the Week 13 win at Washington. He hit 22 of 28 passes for 235 yards with a touchdown and an interception.
Late in the first half, Manning found tight end Brandon Myers wide open for a 22-yard score off play action. But in the third quarter, Manning was pressured and threw high for receiver Rueben Randle. The ball was tipped and picked off easily by Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather. It was Manning's NFC-leading 18th interception.
Manning has another plus matchup Week 14 at San Diego.
|Guess what? Another good matchup for Eli Manning |

(11/29/13) Giants quarterback Eli Manning heads into Week 13 at Washington with another good matchup at his disposal. Will he finally take advantage of it for Fantasy owners?
Manning has faced some easy opponents of late based on Fantasy points allowed to opposing quarterbacks -- Philadelphia twice, Minnesota, Green Bay, Dallas and Oakland -- but his best game was 19 points against the Cowboys in Week 12. He only has one game this season with more than 20 points, which was Week 1 at Dallas.
The Redskins come into this matchup having allowed four of their past six opposing quarterbacks to score at least 20 Fantasy points, including Nick Foles and Colin Kaepernick the past two games. We'll see if Manning can make it three in a row.
Manning also has a terrible history against the Redskins. In his past five meetings, Washington has held Manning to an average of 277 passing yards with four total touchdowns and seven interceptions over that span. He should be considered just a No. 2 Fantasy quarterback in this matchup.
|Eli Manning solid against Dallas Week 12 |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(11/24/13) Giants quarterback Eli Manning had a solid game against the Cowboys Week 12.
Manning had to fight through tough wind most of the game, and wound up completing 16 of 30 passes for 174 yards. Due to the poor passing conditions, Manning was held to just 5.8 yards per completion. Manning was able to bring the Giants back late in the game, tossing two touchdowns in the second half. It was the third time this season Manning was held under 200 yards passing.
Manning will take on Washington Week 13.
|Dream matchup makes Eli Manning realistic option |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(11/19/13) In Week 12 Eli Manning plays a Cowboys defense giving up the most Fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, 25.0 per game. He's primed to take advantage.
Manning hit a season-high 71.4 percent of his throws for 279 yards in last week's win over Green Bay. He completed passes to nine different receivers. He got his top weapon going again as Victor Cruz caught eight balls for 110 yards. With the Giants finally running effectively, Manning hasn't thrown multiple interceptions since Week 5.
“We’re starting to play the way we expect to play,” he told the New York Post.
Counting the opener at Dallas, when Manning threw for 450 yards and four touchdowns with three picks, he's tossed 36 touchdowns against 22 interceptions in 15 meetings with the Cowboys.
Manning still sports an ugly season stat line: 12 touchdowns, 19 turnovers. But like his team, he's turned the corner. Consider Manning a low-end QB1 this week.
|Eli Manning bounces back in Week 11 win |
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
(11/17/13) Giants quarterback Eli Manning got back on track with a solid performance as he nearly cracked the 300-yard mark during Sunday's win over the Packers at home in Week 11.
Manning hooked up with Rueben Randle down the middle on a deep cross pattern for a 26-yard strike in the first quarter and was then picked off by Tramon Williams late in the second quarter.
Manning completed 25 of 35 passes for 279 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He was also sacked four times and had one carry for a gain of 3 yards. He finished with a 92.4 passer rating in a 27-13 victory.
Manning passed for more than 250 yards for the fourth time this season. He'll look to keep things rolling at home against Dallas in Week 12. The Cowboys have allowed 313.0 passing yards per game, which ranks dead-last in the league.
|Eli Manning should be considered one of the leading bounce-back candidates this year. He struggled in 2012, which was a surprise, but he didn't have a healthy Hakeem Nicks and also was without former No. 3 receiver Mario Manningham, who left as a free agent for San Francisco. Manning's final stats in 2012 were respectable but misleading. He finished with 3,948 yards, 26 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, which gave him 276 Fantasy points in a standard league. But Manning needed 208 passing yards and five touchdowns -- 38 Fantasy points -- in a meaningless Week 17 game against the Eagles to save his production. He was brutal for most of the season (he had four games with five Fantasy points or fewer), and we predict a rebound year is in order. Getting Nicks back at 100 percent will help, and the Giants need to hope Rueben Randle can become a viable third receiver all season. The Giants also replaced the departed Martellus Bennett with Brandon Myers from Oakland. Before last year, Manning had consecutive seasons of at least 4,000 passing yards and 30 total touchdowns. It won't take him much to get back to that level, and he actually presents great value since he'll fall to a mid- to late-round pick in most leagues. We love getting Manning as a low-end starter or high-end backup in 2013. (Updated 5/28/13) |
