Jones doesn't need surgery: The Boston Globe reports Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones won't require surgery on either of his injured ankles, according to a team source. Jones hurt his right ankle against the Colts in Week 11 and his left ankle in the Divisional Playoffs vs. the Texans.

Jones' rookie season ended with six sacks and five passes defensed with three forced fumbles and 45 total tackles in 14 games. The production is proof he can be a decent contributor in Fantasy in 2013. We'd take him as a reserve DL.

| Chandler Jones had a productive rookie season in 2012, and he will look to build off that performance this year. He got off to a hot start in his first year with five sacks through the first eight games. He then struggled with ankle problems and didn’t register a sack the rest of the season, but he showed a glimpse of his pass-rushing ability. Jones plays a weak position as a defensive lineman, but he could approach double digits in sacks. He is worth a late-round pick in IDP leagues. (Updated 4/26/13) |
