Shaun Hill commits three turnovers in Week 12 loss

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/23/14) Rams quarterback Shaun Hill nearly rallied his team to a dramatic victory, but in the end he was undone by a critical miscue. Hill threw a goal-line interception with 56 seconds left to seal the Rams' 27-24 loss at San Diego.

It was Hill's third turnover. He got picked off on his first pass of the game. In the third quarter, Hill coughed up the ball while getting hit and linebacker Andrew Gachkar scooped it up for a 13-yard touchdown.

Hill finished 18 of 35 for 198 yards and a touchdown, a 7-yard toss to Stedman Bailey in the fourth quarter. Hill will try to bounce back Week 13 against the Raiders.

Rams QB Shaun Hill excels Sunday as new starter

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/16/14) No matter how Rams quarterback Shaun Hill performs the rest of his career, he can always brag that he outplayed Hall of Famer Peyton Manning one fine Sunday afternoon.

Hill threw for nearly 200 fewer yards, but was certainly more efficient than Manning in a Week 11 upset defeat of Denver. He finished 20 of 29 for 220 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. His success was greatly due to finding forgotten wideout Kenny Britt four times for 128 yards in the first half, including a 63-yarder over the middle for a touchdown late in the first quarter.

The new starting quarterback, who has taken over for Austin Davis, hit just 7 of 13 for 52 yards after intermission. He will try to keep his team on the right track in Week 12 at San Diego.

Rams sticking with QB Austin Davis

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(11/10/14) Rams coach Jeff Fisher said quarterback Austin Davis will start Week 11 against the Broncos despite committing turnovers on three consecutive fourth-quarter possessions Sunday, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The last two were returned for touchdowns.

Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson intercepted Davis and scored from 30 yards out, then corner Antonio Cromartie picked up Davis' fumble and returned it 14 yards for a touchdown.

Davis has accounted for 12 touchdowns and 12 turnovers this season. Shaun Hill will continue to be his backup.

Rams QB Austin Davis throws one touchdown Week 10

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(11/9/14) Rams quarterback Austin Davis managed one touchdown Week 10 against the Cardinals.

Davis completed 17 of 30 passes for 216 yards and a score during the contest. He was constantly under pressure, tossing two interceptions, losing a fumble and getting sacked six times. Davis really melted down in the fourth quarter. He threw both picks while attempting to lead a comeback. The second pick was returned for a touchdown by Patrick Peterson.

Davis will take on the Broncos Week 11.

Austin Davis shows his true colors

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(10/28/14) Remember when Rams quarterback Austin Davis was looking like a sneaky pickup in Fantasy? With back-to-back sub-200 yard games, he's back to performing like a backup thrust into a starting role, as I mentioned in my latest post to the Fantasy Baseball Today blog. Oh, and now he's without his best wide receiver, Brian Quick, for the season. It's really quite sad.

Granted, he hasn't had the most favorable matchups to work with the last few weeks. The decline actually began against the 49ers in Week 6, but then, they're the eighth-best team against the pass. The Seahawks, regardless of where they rank, are still the Seahawks, and the Chiefs, Davis' Week 8 opponent, are actually No. 1 against the pass.

But clearly, you're scraping the bottom of the barrel if you turn to Davis in Fantasy. He is, in fact, a backup quarterback for a team whose starter left something to be desired himself. And hey, he's facing the 49ers again in Week 9 -- this time on the road -- so we should have a pretty good idea how that'll go.
