Russell Wilson's goal: Be the best ever
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(4/3/14) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is setting a lofty goal after winning the Super Bowl. "Why can't I be the best quarterback to ever play the game one day?' Wilson said, per ESPN.com. "I'm not right now. I've got a long way to go. But one day, you know?"

Wilson said he was inspired by his late father, who always used to tell him: "Russ, why not you?"

Wilson said he's going through "a championship offseason" and that he and his teammates are hungry for another title, the report said.

Russell Wilson getting no special treatment
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/31/14) Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said quarterback Russell Wilson is still "a young guy figuring it out."

"He needs all the attention that everyone else needs, and he’s gonna get it,” Carroll said. “Russell’s just a young guy figuring it out. Of course, he applies himself so well that you think that he’s okay. I think that would be a tragic mistake. He’s just developing. He’s just coming on. He needs work fundamentally. He needs work on the principles of what we’re doing. He needs repetitions with the guys he plays with. All of that will just continue to add to his play.

"So we’re not going to treat him any differently than anybody else. We’re gonna battle like crazy to make him push his game as far as he can take it."

Seahawks re-sign Tarvaris Jackson
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(3/17/14) The Seahawks announced that they re-signed backup quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. He appeared in four games last season, completing 10 of 13 throws for 151 yards and a touchdown while adding a rushing score.
Russell Wilson tweets he'll show up at Rangers spring training
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/20/14) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson confirmed via Twitter that he'll attend Rangers spring training on March 3, reports Fox Sports. It's still unclear what exactly Wilson will do. He might just speak to the players about his experiences.

Wilson played two years in the Rockies' organization and later was selected by Texas in the Rule 5 draft.

Russell Wilson very efficient in Super Bowl victory
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/2/14) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson overthrew tight end Zach Miller on his first Super Bowl pass before settling down to play an extremely efficient game. Wilson finished 18 of 25 for 206 yards and two touchdowns and ran three times for 26 yards.

He did not commit a turnover while posting a 123.1 passer rating and repeatedly converting third downs. In the second half, Wilson hit Jermaine Kearse for a 23-yard touchdown and Doug Baldwin for a 10-yard score.

"It was a great team win," Wilson said, noting Seattle got major contributions from offense, defense and special teams.
