Seahawks GM: 'No timeline' on Russell Wilson's contract extension

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(2/19/15) Seahawks general manager John Schneider told reporters during Thursday's combine press conference that there is "no timeline" on Russell Wilson's contract extension, per the Palm Beach Post.

"I've talked to his people, and they know where we're at," Schneider said.

Schneider also indicated last week that he's expecting to find a way to keep his top quarterback on the roster long-term and he is not afraid to do so unconventionally. Wilson, who has one year left on his rookie contract, has led Seattle to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances. Wilson registered 3,475 passing yards, with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions in 2014. He also ran for 849 yards and six touchdowns.

Russell Wilson: 'I obviously want to play in Seattle forever'

by Larry Hartstein | Senior Analyst
(2/3/15) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is poised to receive a huge contract extension as he enters the final year of his rookie deal. Before leaving for the offseason, he told reporters he wasn't thinking about his contract during his team's run to the Super Bowl.

"To be honest with you, I haven’t really thought anything about it," he said, per the Seattle Times. "You know, I obviously want to play in Seattle forever. That’s my goal, and I want to be with this organization. I love this organization. I love this city. I love these fans, and I love winning here. We’ve won a lot of football games here, and that’s the goal, you know.

"Every year I step on the field, every time I go out those doors back there, the goal is to have a winning day and the goal is to have a winning practice with great teammates around me. So, I think that’s where my focus is, is just continue to find ways to win, and hopefully it’s here in Seattle forever. But still -- I’m still thinking I’ve got a game on Sunday. That’s what I’m still feeling like.”

Seahawks' Russell Wilson throws three touchdowns in win

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(1/10/15) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson tossed three touchdowns in Saturday's win against the Panthers.

Wilson completed 15 of 22 passes for 268 yards and three scores. He was able to pull off a number of big plays, averaging 12.2 yards per completion. Wilson did have seven rushing attempts, but was mostly held in check on the ground, picking up 22 yards.

Jermaine Kearse played a big role in Wilson's performance. Kearse was able to get open deep a number of times against the Carolina secondary. He had two gains of 33 yards and picked up a 63 yard touchdown. Wilson made sure to spread the love, tossing his other touchdowns to Luke Willson and Doug Baldwin.

Wilson will take on the winner of the Packers/Cowboys game in the NFC Championship.

Seahawks' Russell Wilson doesn't do much Week 17

by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/28/14) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson had a rough game Week 17 against the Rams.

Wilson completed 17 of 25 passes for 239 yards. He did not throw any touchdowns, but did toss one interception during the contest. Wilson was under constant pressure, taking three sacks. He was often forced to throw the ball away when he was able to elude the pass rush. When he did have time, Wilson was able to hit on some big plays. He averaged 9.6 yards per completion. Wilson had six carries, but gained just 7 rushing yards. He also fumbled twice, though the Seahawks managed to recover both balls.

Wilson had a solid third season, setting career-highs in both passing and rushing yards. While he saw his passing touchdowns fall from 26 to 20, Wilson made up for that with a career-high six rushing scores.

Russell Wilson could be in for strong finish

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/22/14) With the Cardinals struggling to get anything going offensively behind third-string quarterback Ryan Lindley, the Seahawks offense got repeated opportunities to shine Week 16 in Arizona. And quarterback Russell Wilson took advantage, throwing for a season-high 339 yards while rushing for 88. For the second time in three games, he contributed three total touchdowns, two in the air and one on the ground.

The Seahawks have gotten back to winning with their defense in recent weeks, making Wilson at times an afterthought. But when pressed to make plays, he's shown he's still capable of putting up big numbers.

Chances are he'll need to make plays in Week 17 against a Rams team that has played well of late, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Wilson's previous season high in passing yards came in his first meeting with them back in Week 7, when he threw for 313 and ran for 106. Despite his up-and-down tendencies, you'll want him active for the season's final week.
