|Russell Wilson should bounce back Week 15 |
|by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com|
(4:48 pm ET) Just like he did in 2012, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is headed for another strong finish after an uneven start to the season. Wilson moves onto the Giants in Week 15 after the 49ers stopped his hot streak Week 14, so this could end up being an ugly week for the New York defense.
Wilson has thrown multiple touchdowns in seven of his last nine games. He's been held to less than 20 Fantasy points just three times in his last nine games.
The Giants did have a run of games from Week 7 through Week 11 where they held quarterbacks to less than 10 Fantasy points over a four-game span. But quarterbacks have averaged 22 Fantasy points in the last three games against the Giants, so the defense is starting to have its problems again. Through the first six games this season, quarterbacks were averaging 27 Fantasy points per week against New York.
The 49ers were a tough matchup for Wilson, who has combined to total 23 Fantasy points in two games against the NFC West foe. The Giants won't be as difficult of a matchup, so consider Wilson a viable Fantasy start in all formats Week 15.

(12/8/13) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who threw for three touchdowns his last time out, took a step back in Sunday's loss to the 49ers in Week 14.
Wilson hooked up with Luke Willson for a 39-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. He was picked off by Eric Wright with nine second remaining to give San Francisco the win. He completed 15 of 25 passes for 199 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 2 yards on one carry in a 19-17 victory.
WIlson has been held under 200 passing yards four times this season. He will look to get back on track in New York against the Giants in Week 15. The Giants surrendered three touchdown passes to Philip Rivers in Week 14.

|Russell Wilson may be hard to trust in San Francisco |
|by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com|
(12/5/13) Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson has not enjoyed facing the 49ers recently. In a 29-3 Week 2 win in Seattle, WIlson completed only 8 of 19 passes for 142 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He'll try to break that trend against the 49ers in a tough matchup in San Francisco in Week 14.
The last time Wilson faced the 49ers in San Francisco, he completed only 9 of 23 passes for 122 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. Fortunately for Fantasy owners, Wilson is coming off his second 300-yard game of the season. In fact, he has averaged 275.7 passing yards while throwing for seven touchdowns and no interceptions over his last three games.
The 49ers have allowed only 206.2 passing yards per game, which is the third-fewest allowed this season. Opposing quarterbacks have only scored 13.17 Fantasy points per game in CBSSports.com standard leagues. You may want to think twice about starting Wilson this week, especially if you're in the playoffs. Our Fantasy experts have him ranked as high as ninth and as low as 11th for Week 14.
|Russell Wilson lethal on deep throws |
|by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com|
(12/3/13) In Seattle's cakewalk over New Orleans, Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson went 5 of 8 on throws at least 15 yards downfield, according to ESPN. Wilson had a 60-yard strike to tight end Zach Miller, a 52-yard completion to receiver Doug Baldwin and a 33-yarder to wideout Ricardo Lockette.
The two biggest gainers came against blitzes. Wilson read them and made the Saints pay.
"We wanted to be great against the blitz," Wilson said, via the Associated Press. "We knew they were going to bring some pressure and we like the sense of pressure because there is a lot of green grass behind it."
Wilson entered the game as the league's most accurate thrower on deep balls. He had completed 59 percent of his throws targeted 20 or more yards downfield.
On such throws, Wilson was 22 of 39 for 702 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions, according to Pro Football Focus. In Week 13 he only enhanced those numbers.
|The Seahawks have brought back Josh Portis this year after he was cut from the practice squad in November. He will compete for a roster spot but has minimal Fantasy value. Ignore him in all leagues on Draft Day. (Updated 4/25/13) |
