|Ryan Fitzpatrick looking at a strong matchup Week 14 |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(8:27 am ET) Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is looking at a strong matchup Week 14 against the Broncos.
Denver has had a difficult time stopping opposing quarterbacks this season. Quarterbacks have averaged 22.00 Fantasy points per game against the Broncos. Through 12 games, the team has allowed 23 passing touchdowns. The Broncos passing defense has been inconsistent most of the year. They've held quarterback to one touchdown or fewer in six games, and allowed multiple touchdowns to quarterbacks in six games. They've been torn up by top-tier passers, as Tom Brady, Tony Romo and Andrew Luck have combined for 11 touchdowns in three games.
Fitzpatrick hasn't flashed that big-play ability this season. In the seven games he's played, he's only thrown for multiple touchdowns in two. It should be noted that both of those games were against subpar defenses. Still, Fitzpatrick lacks upside, making him a questionable Fantasy starter even in a good situation.
|Ryan Fitzpatrick mistake-prone against Colts |
|by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com|
(12/1/13) Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was mistake-free in the last three games heading into the clash Sunday in Indianapolis. He was far from it against the Colts with three interceptions and a fumble. The result was a defeat that all but knocked Tennessee out of the AFC playoff race.
Fitzpatrick missed on three of his first four attempts, but got on track with a 31-yard pass to Nate Washington late in the first quarter. His 16-yard run set up his 1-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and a 2-yard scoring strike to Chris Johnson gave his team a 14-12 lead midway through the third.
It was all downhill from there for Fitzpatrick, who tossed two picks in the second half and finished with a quarterback rating of 47.2. He will attempt to bounce back next Sunday in Denver.
|Ryan Fitzpatrick a sleeper for Week 13 |
|by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer|
(11/30/13) Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick should be considered a sleeper heading into Week 13 at the Colts.
Fitzpatrick has played well since taking over for the injured Jake Locker (foot). He has at least 26 Fantasy points in two of his past three games, and he's passed for five touchdowns and no interceptions over that span.
The lone game he had with a poor Fantasy line was Week 11 against the Colts when he scored just 16 points. That's also the only time in the past five games Indianapolis has held a quarterback under 19 Fantasy points, including matchups with Peyton Manning, Case Keenum, Kellen Clemens and Carson Palmer.
Fitzpatrick could improve from his previous meeting with the Colts, and we like him as a No. 2 Fantasy quarterback with upside. You might not start him in most standard leagues, but in two-quarterback formats you should consider Fitzpatrick a must-start option.

(11/24/13) Titans quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick came up big late in Sunday's win over the Raiders in Week 12.
Fitzpatrick hooked up with Justin Hunter for a 54-yard touchdown strike in the third quarter. He then gave the Titans the lead for good with a 10-yard touchdown strike to Kendall Wright with 15 seconds remaining in the game.
Fitzpatrick completed 30 of 42 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was sacked twice and finished the game with a 109.2 passer rating. He'll look to keep rolling in Week 13 at Indianapolis.
|Jake Locker's career hasn't gotten off to a great start, which is why Fantasy owners should be nervous to draft him even though he's the Titans starter. Last year Locker had all of one game with 20-plus Fantasy points (Peyton Manning and Tom Brady each had 12) and suffered shoulder injuries that raised a red flag for his future. The Titans did a lot this offseason to improve their offensive line and run game, telling signs that Locker won't throw a ton (he had four games with 35-plus pass attempts last year anyway). He does have a receiving corps that looks good on paper and has the legs to move around and out of the pocket, but a lack of consistency as a passer and as a stat producer limit him to late-round material on Draft Day.
