by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com (9/28/14) The Jaguars backup pass catchers were able to get in some work Week 4.
Jacksonville spread the ball around quite a bit, allowing 10 different receivers to come up with a reception. Allen Robinson made some noise, hauling in five passes for 38 yards. He was targeted seven times, which was second on the club.
Mike Brown had one catch for 12 yards. Fullback Will Ta'ufo'ou also hauled in one pass, gaining 4 yards. Nic Jacobs had the least yardage of all receivers on the day, but had the only touchdown. In the second quarter, Jacobs came down with a 2 yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles.
They'll take on the Steelers Week 5.

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com (8/14/14) Jaguars wide receiver Mike Brown was heavily targeted during Thursday’s preseason game against the Bears in Chicago. Brown was targeted four times by starter Chad Henne and backup Blake Bortles, respectively. He finished with three catches for 49 yards.
Jaguars have lost seven receivers so far
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (8/6/14) For a few hours Wednesday, the Jaguars had two healthy receivers who have played in the NFL. That's how many receivers Jacksonville has lost. ESPN.com updated the team's woes at wideout:
Mike Brown went down with hamstring tightness Wednesday after a strong camp. It's unclear how long he'll be out.
Starter Cecil Shorts left the first practice July 25 with hamstring tightness too and has not practiced since. Rookie Allen Robinson strained his hamstring July 31 and will be out at least one more week. Tandon Doss is out indefinitely with a badly sprained ankle.
Rookie Damian Copeland went on IR on Monday with a wrist injury. Rookie Nathan Slaughter sprained his foot and is out several weeks. Ace Sanders, who caught 51 passes last year, took a leave of absence for "personal issues" and will face a four-game substance abuse suspension upon his return.
"Man, I've never seen anything like it," said receiver Kerry Taylor, who started four games last year. "I don't even know what to call it."
Mike Brown is back with the Jaguars for 2014. It's expected he'll compete for playing time in training camp this summer. Injuries pushed Brown onto the field last season and he was pretty decent with 446 yards on 32 catches and two touchdowns over 11 games. Brown might have had the chance to contribute to Jacksonville's offense this season but after the team drafted two receivers with their first three picks we think Brown will struggle to find playing time. We wouldn't draft him.
