Cowboys DST brings the heat
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(12/30/13) The Cowboys DST produced five sacks in the loss to the Eagles, two apiece by defensive tackle Jason Hatcher and linebacker DeVonte Holloman. Hatcher stripped quarterback Nick Foles on one of his sacks, defensive end DeMarcus Ware recovering.

Defensive end Jarius Wynn also registered a sack for Dallas, which had just 16 sacks over its previous 12 games. The Cowboys DST added to the franchise record for yards allowed by giving up 366 in the 24-22 loss.

Cowboys DST average against Washington Week 16
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/22/13) The Cowboys DST was average against Washington Week 16.

The team held Washington to 23 points, but didn't produce many points otherwise. The team did not sack quarterback Kirk Cousins, but did force an interception. The team also failed to force a fumble. Dallas will take on the Eagles Week 17.

Cowboys DST facing strong matchup
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/20/13) The Cowboys DST is looking at a strong matchup Week 16 against Washington.

Washington hasn't been an offensive juggernaut this season, averaging 21.8 points per game. They've allowed opposing defenses to average 12.14 Fantasy points per game against them. The team is also prone to turnovers. Washington has 27 fumbles, 40 sacks and 16 interceptions. All three of those figures rank above the league-average.

At the same time, the Cowboys have not been dependable on defense all season. The team allows 27.5 points per game, one of the higher figures in the league. They've allowed 30 passing touchdowns through 14 games. They haven't been much better against the run, giving up 15 rushing touchdowns. Though it's a good matchup, it's tough to consider the Cowboys DST a strong Fantasy start.

Second-half disaster dooms Cowboys DST
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/16/13) The Cowboys DST appeared to be on the way to a big performance for their Fantasy owners on Sunday, but unfortunately NFL games are two halves, not one. They held the Packers to just three points before intermission and 34 in the second half.

The result was a poor overall effort in which they had just one interception and two sacks. They also held Green Bay to just 283 total yards.

Dan Bailey hits four of 40 or longer in loss to Packers
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(12/15/13) It seemed for one half that Cowboys placekicker Dan Bailey was going to boot his team to victory Sunday against Green Bay.

Bailey nailed a 47-yarder four minutes into the game and just kept slamming them through the uprights. He hit a 23-yarder later in the quarter and field goals of 43 and 50 yards in the second quarter to help his team forge ahead, 26-3. He made it 29-10 in the third quarter with his second 50-yarder.

He finished the game 5-for-5 and connected on all his extra points for a perfect day - at least personally.
