Cowboys shut down Colts offense in blowout

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(12/21/14)  The Cowboys appeared to have a tough matchup on the way in Week 16 with the Colts on the schedule, but they completely shut their offense down en route to a 42-7 win.

The Cowboys allowed the Colts to score just once late in the game, after the Colts had already brought their backups in. The Colts had just 229 yards of total offense in the game, while turning the ball over three times, and Cowboys added a pair of sacks in the win as well.

The Cowboys DST unit finished the game with a season-best 18 Fantasy points, their second game in a row with at least 14. They will look to complete their strong finish to the season in Week 17, with Washington on the schedule.

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/9/14) Cowboys placekicker Dan Bailey set the tone for a rout of Jacksonville in London on Sunday. He slammed through a 54-yard field goal three minutes into the game.

Bailey did miss one later, but was perfect in four extra point attempts.

Identifying a few streaming DST options

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/21/14) If you need to pick up and play a DST unit in Week 8, Jamey Eisenberg identifies three worth snagging in his waiver-wire column: the Colts (59 percent owned) in Pittsburgh, the Cowboys (43 percent) against Washington, and the Dolphins (36 percent) in Jacksonville.

Cowboys defense gets the job done

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/5/14) The Cowboys held the Texans to just two offensive touchdowns Sunday, in a 20-17 win in Week 5.

The Cowboys allowed just 330 yards of total offense and held the Texans to just one touchdown through three quarters before a late rally. Though they held the Texans at bay, the Cowboys defense failed to contribute much in the way of big plays, forcing just one turnover and recording no sacks.

The Cowboys continue to play over expectations defensively, and enter Week 6 against the Seahawks allowing 20.6 points per game through five games.

Cowboys hold Titans to 10 points during Week 2 win

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) The Cowboys defense stepped up in a big way during a 26-10 win Week 2 at Tennessee. Dallas held Tennessee to 314 yards (82 rushing) and one offensive touchdown Sunday.

The defense had a strong showing in the first half, as the Cowboys jumped out to a 16-0 lead by halftime. Titans quarterback Jake Locker completed just 4 of 12 passes for 26 yards in the first half.

Dallas finished with two interceptions and sacked Locker two times. The Cowboys are back in action Week 3 at St. Louis.
