Lack of big plays sinks Broncos vs. Rams

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/17/14) The Broncos defense held up well in Week 11 against the Rams, but got little help from the offense in a 22-7 loss.

The Broncos limited the Rams to 337 yards of total offense, but were on the field for nearly 36 minutes of gametime, as the Rams racked up late field goals to extend the lead. The Broncos held them to no touchdowns in the red zone, with the only Rams touchdown coming on a 62-yard pass to Kenny Britt. The Broncos were hurt by a lack of big players of their own, as they failed to force a turnover and ended up with three sacks in the loss.

The Broncos's DST unit finished the game with just 5 Fantasy points, their third game in single digits over the last four. They will look to bounce back in Week 12 against the Dolphins.

Broncos PK Brandon McManus does little Sunday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(11/16/14) Broncos placekicker Brandon McManus did not have a busy afternoon Sunday in St. Louis. He was not called upon to try a field goal and had just one extra point.

Broncos DST picked apart in blowout

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/3/14) The Broncos DST unit simply couldn't keep up with the Patriots offense in Week 9, in a 43-21 loss.

The Broncos, who had at least eight Fantasy points in six of their first seven games, were outmatched Sunday. They finished the game with three Fantasy points on the strength of one interception and one sack, however Tom Brady had his way with them otherwise. The Patriots offense racked up 398 yards of total offense in the blowout.

The Broncos ran right into Brady at the height of his powers this season, so expectations weren't too high for their value as a DST unit. They should bounce back nicely in Week 10, however, with the Raiders on the schedule.

Broncos PK Brandon McManus make them all Sunday

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(10/12/14) Broncos placekicker Brandon McManus opened the scoring Sunday against the Jets with a 37-yard field goal, then spent the rest of the afternoon watching Peyton Manning drive his team into the end zone.

McManus made good on all four of his extra point efforts.

Broncos DST wears down in Super Bowl

by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com
(2/2/14) The Broncos DST started strong in the Super Bowl but eventually wore down as the unit was repeatedly put in bad positions by Denver's offense. The Broncos got no sacks or turnovers and gave up 341 total yards.

Denver did a nice job bottling up Marshawn Lynch, holding him to 39 yards on 15 carries. It didn't matter as Russell Wilson threw for a pair of touchdowns, Lynch punched in a 1-yard touchdown and Seattle scored on an interception return and kickoff return.

Linebacker Danny Trevathan was one of the few bright spots for Denver. He made a game-high 12 tackles, one for loss.
