Packers hold their own against Patriots

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/30/14) The Packers defense mostly held up well, though they failed to make any big plays in a 26-21 win over the Patriots in Week 13.

The Packers held the Patriots to just 320 yards of total offense, though the Patriots did find the end zone on each of their three trips to the red zone. However, the Patriots had the ball for just under 23 and a half minutes, as the Packers' defense got a boost from an offense that stayed on the field often.

Still, the defense failed to come up with any turnovers in addition to just one sack, as the Packers DST unit finished with just 3 Fantasy points. The Packers have just 9 Fantasy points combined over their last two games, heading into Week 14 against the Falcons.

Packers defense keeps on rolling with three touchdowns

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/17/14) The Packers DST unit put together another huge performance in Week 11, in a 53-20 win over the Eagles.

After recording three turnovers and one defensive touchdown in Week 10's blowout win over the Bears, the Packers' DST unit stepped it up Sunday. They came away with three DST touchdowns, including a punt return, interception return and fumble return for touchdowns. All in all, they held the Eagles to two late touchdowns in the win, while coming down with four turnovers and three sacks.

The Packers DST unit has racked up 53 Fantasy points over the last two games, besting their total from the previous four games combined. They will look to keep rolling in Week 12 against a struggling Vikings offense.

Late touchdowns only blemish for Packers

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/19/14) The Packers defense dominated in a 38-17 win over the Panthers in Week 7, but a couple of late garbage time touchdowns sullied their strong effort.

The Packers held the Panthers to just a field goal through three quarters, and allowed just 331 yards of total offense in the game. The Panthers turned the ball over once on an interception by Cam Newton, who was also sacked three times.

The Packers DST unit has scored at least 9 points in five straight games, and is now average 10.6 per game on the season. They will look to keep up the strong play in Week 8 against the Saints.

Packers a worthwhile play for Week 5

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/30/14) The Packers have more than held their own in tough matchups against the Lions and Bears over the last two weeks, racking up 21 combined Fantasy points. Things should get a lot easier in Week 5, with the Vikings on the schedule.

The Vikings might be down to their third quarterback this week, if Teddy Bridgewater's ankle keeps him out. Even if Bridgewater does play, however, he will be making his second NFL start just four days after suffering an ankle injury. If Bridgewater is limited, the Packers could feast on a one-dimensional offense that has struggled to run the ball before last Sunday.

The Packers' defense has improved in each game this season, and they will look to keep the trend going in Week 5. Consider them a solid starting option, worth picking up on waivers for this week.

Mason Crosby boots 53-yarder in easy Green Bay victory

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/28/14) In a game with no punts, Packers placekicker Mason Crosby at least provided some notoriety for the kickers Sunday against Chicago.

Crosby blasted a 53-yard field goal early in the third quarter, though he did also miss an attempt. He added five extra points in the lopsided win.
