Colts have no answer for New England ground game
by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1/11/14) The Colts had no answer for New England's ground game in a 43-22 loss in a Divisional Playoff game at Gillette Stadium.

Indianapolis allowed six rushing touchdowns and 234 yards on the ground. LeGarrette Blount gashed the defense for 166 yards and four touchdowns while Stevan Ridley rushed for 52 yards and two scores. The defense recorded two sacks but weren't able to force any turnovers while allowing 419 yards of total offense in the loss.
Colts defense bailed out by furious rally
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(1/4/14) The Colts defense hasn't been particularly good for much of the season, and that certainly held true in Saturday's Wild Card game against the Chiefs. The offense had to bail out the defense late in a 45-44 win.

The Colts let a subpar Chief's offense rack up 513 yards of total offense, including 31 first-half points as they fell behind big. They ended up forcing one turnover, and it was a key one, giving the Colts' offense the ball inside Chiefs' territory on an Alex Smith strip-sack. That was one of two sacks the Colts came up with in the win.

The Colts defense will probably need a better showing next week if they want their playoff run to be extended further. The next opponent on the way is either New England or Denver, both high-powered offenses playing at home.

Colts DST limits Jaguars to 10 points
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/29/13) The Colts DST had a strong game against Jacksonville Week 17.

Indianapolis limited the Jaguars to just 10 points. They also managed to force a couple turnovers. Chad Henne threw an interception, and Maurice Jones-Drew lost a fumble. The team also picked up three sacks. It was the third straight game the Colts held a team to 10 points or less.

Colts DST looking at favorable matchup Week 17
by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com
(12/27/13) The Colts DST is facing a strong matchup Week 17 against the Jaguars.

Jacksonville has allowed defenses to put up points this season. Opposing defenses have averaged 13.93 Fantasy points per game. The Jaguars score just 15.8 points per game, which is the worst rate in the league. Jacksonville turns the ball over quite a bit, tossing 20 interceptions this season and giving up 47 sacks.

Indianapolis has been solid defensively this season. The team has allowed 21.7 points per game, which ranks 12th in the league. The Colts aren't necessarily a big turnover team, forcing 14 interceptions and 39 sacks. Both of those numbers rate about middle of the pack. The team's defense has been solid, and given their opponent, that makes the Colts DST a useful play Week 17.

Keep Colts DST away from active lineups Week 16
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(12/18/13) The Colts defense came through for Fantasy owners with one of its biggest performances of the season during a Week 15 win vs. Houston. The Colts DST delivered 22 Fantasy points last week, which was the second-highest total behind the 28 points it produced in Week 4 at Jacksonville.

Though, expecting the Colts DST to have another 20-point performance Week 16 is a stretch because now the Colts have to travel to face Kansas City, who are a far tougher opponent than the struggling Texans. In fact, the Chiefs dropped 56 points on the Raiders in Week 15, behind a five-touchdown performance from running back Jamaal Charles.

DSTs are averaging just 4.6 Fantasy points per week against the Chiefs, which is the lowest average. Only two DSTs have scored more than 10 points against Kansas City and none in the last seven games. Needless to say, it's highly recommended you keep the Colts DST out of active Fantasy lineups Week 16.
