Late meltdown costs Saints in loss

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(10/20/14) The Saints defense mostly held up their end of the bargain Sunday, but fell apart late in a 24-23 loss to the Lions in Week 7.

The Lions had just 10 points with four minutes left in the fourth quarter, as the Saints looked to be on their way to an easy win. Unfortunately, they surrendered two quick touchdowns to cost them the game.

The Saints did limit the Lions to just 344 yards of total offense in the game, including a paltry 59 yards on the ground. They forced a pair of turnovers and sacked Matthew Stafford three times in the loss.

The Saints DST unit still managed to score 9 Fantasy points in Sunday's game, their second-highest total of the season. They will likely struggle to reach even that level in Week 8, with the Packers on the schedule.

Shayne Graham connects on all tries in Sunday defeat

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) Saints placekicker Shayne Graham was perfect on a Sunday afternoon in which his team was far from it.

Graham booted a 27-yard field goal in his lone attempt and added three extra points in the loss to Cleveland.

Cameron Jordan does his job against Seahawks

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(1/11/14) Defensive end Cameron Jordan led the Saints charge defensively Saturday in Seattle. He contributed six tackles, one of three sacks and two of three TFLs.

Shayne Graham lays goose egg in Seattle

by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(1/11/14) When your best moment is an onside kick, you know it's a tough day. And it was a tough day Saturday in Seattle for Saints placekicker Shayne Graham, though the gusting wind was certainly a factor.

Graham missed two field goal attempts. The first just missed left from 45 yards out in the first quarter, but it must be pointed out that the holder placed the laces forward. His second attempt was way off from 48 yards and proved to be a key miss in the fourth quarter.

He did squib an onside kick that his team recovered with time running out, but it did not result in the completion of a comeback.

Saints keep Nick Foles under 200 yards

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(1/4/14) The Saints were able to hold off Philadelphia's comeback attempt as Shayne Graham drilled the game-winning field goal as time expired to win Saturday's Wild Card playoff game against the Eagles 26-24. New Orleans limited Nick Foles to 195 passing yards despite allowing two touchdown passes. The defense sacked Foles twice but were unable to force any turnovers, as they surrendered 256 yards of total offense.

The Saints will now travel to Seattle for a showdown against the Seahawks in the second round of the playoffs.
