|Titans take advantage of lowly Texans |
|by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com|
(12/29/13) The Titans DST unit had little trouble dominating one of the league's worst teams in Week 17, as they held the Texans to just two scores in a 16-10 win.
Tennessee's defense allowed just 288 yards of total offense, and came up with a number of big plays as a result of Houston's sloppiness. The Titans forced four turnovers in the game, two each on fumbles and interceptions, though they added just one sack in the win.
The Titans DST unit had its moments this season, but still allowed 10 of 16 opponents to score more than 20 points. They will likely be considered a low-end Fantasy option for next season.

(12/15/13) The Titans DST did little in Week 15 vs. Arizona. Tennessee produced two sacks and no turnovers in the 37-34 overtime loss.
Defensive tackle Jurrell Casey picked up 1 1/2 sacks, giving him 10 1/2 this season, but otherwise the Titans were not disruptive. Tennessee gave up 360 total yards, allowing the Cardinals to convert 6 of 12 third downs.
The Titans DST will look for improvement Week 16 at Jacksonville.
|Titans DST destroyed in Denver |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(12/8/13) The Titans DST was knocked around in Denver Week 14.
Tennessee had their worst game of the year, giving up 51 points. The team could not handle the Broncos offense, despite knocking Wes Welker out of the game early. They were bitten by both the pass and the run game. Peyton Manning threw for 397 yards and four touchdowns, and both Knowshon Moreno and Montee Ball averaged over 5 yards per carry.
The Titans DST will look to improve next week against the Cardinals.

(12/6/13) Wide receiver Kendall Wright (ankle) heads a quartet of Titans listed as probable for Sunday against Pittsburgh. The others are linebacker Akeem Ayers (groin), fullback Quinn Johnson (hamstring) and punter Brett Kern (back).
|Titans DST in trouble Week 14? |
|by Chris Cwik | CBSSports.com|
(12/5/13) The Titans DST will be tested Week 14 against the Broncos.
Denver has been a DST killer most of the season, leading the league with 38.7 points per game. Opposing Fantasy defenses have scored just 6.92 points per game against the Broncos. Denver has scored at least 27 points in each game this year. On top of that, the Broncos have allowed a league-low 15 sacks, and Peyton Manning has only tossed nine interceptions. The only area the team is vulnerable is holding onto the ball. The Broncos actually lead the league with 26 fumbles.
For the most part, the Titans have been an effective defense this season. They allow 22.2 points per game, which puts them 11th in the league. The team hasn't forced a lot of turnovers. They are below-average at getting to the quarterback, with 31 sacks, and haven't forced interceptions at a high rate. Tennessee has done a fantastic job limiting opposing quarterbacks to just eight touchdowns, so they could disrupt Manning a bit Sunday. Either way, it's not a great matchup for the Titans DST.
