Vikings D improves through draft

(5/10/13) The Vikings might have been shy about adding defensive talent via free agency but splurged in the NFL draft. Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd and cornerback Xavier Rhodes were first-round picks, linebacker Gerald Hodges made it in Round 4 and defensive tackle Everett Dawkins and linebacker Michael Mauti rounded out the draft.

Vikings thrown off course

(1/5/13) The Minnesota defense was unable to create any turnovers and allowed 24 unanswered points over a span of three quarters during a 24-10 loss at Green Bay in an NFC Wild Card matchup Saturday night. Less than a week after rushing Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers for five sacks, the Vikings could not apply the same pressure and took him down three times. They did allow Green Bay to convert just 3 of its 14 plays on third down.

Packers offense a challenge for Vikes

(1/3/13) The Vikings defense has come up big for the team this season but they'll have their hands full at Green Bay in playoff action this Sunday. The team racked up five sacks of Aaron Rodgers last week but got to him twice at Lambeau Field back in Week 13. The Packers scored 23 and 34 points against the Vikes with over 400 total yards of offense in each contest.

Vikings gashed by Packers in win

(12/30/12) The Vikings were not able to slow down the Packers much in Week 17 but still came away with the win. Minnesota surrendered 405 yards of total offense, including 72 on the ground in the 37-34 victory. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 365 yards and four touchdowns but was sacked five times and lost a fumble. It was the only turnover the Vikings forced.
