Haley confident in Steelers receiving corps
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/24/14) The Steelers lost Emmanuel Sanders and Jerricho Cotchery this offseason as free agents, but offensive coordinator Todd Haley is confident in his group this year, reports ESPN.

In losing Sanders and Cotchery, the Steelers have to replace 1,342 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, which could be hard to do.

"It's as deep a group as I've been around from top to bottom," Haley said. "I think some guys that are pretty good football players probably won't make the team."

The Steelers have Antonio Brown as their No. 1 option, and Markus Wheaton is penciled in as the other starter. Lance Moore was signed to take Cotchery's role as the No. 3 receiver, and rookie Martavis Bryant is competing with Darrius Heyward-Bey for the No. 4 spot. Justin Brown is also in the mix for a role.

Steelers take long look at Justin Brown
by Dave Richard | Senior Fantasy Writer
(6/16/14) Receiver Justin Brown landed first-team reps with the Steelers offense in their most recent OTA, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Brown, who is 6-foot-3, spent all of last season on the practice squad but got the chance to work with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger this offseason and lined up all over the field with fellow first teamers Antonio Brown and Lance Moore.

"Justin is doing some great things," Roethlisberger said. "I just like that he keeps working to get better and every day you see improvement from him."

Ben Roethlisberger spends time with young receivers
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer
(2/11/14) Steelers receiver Derek Moye went to Southern California last week to work out with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, reports the Beaver County Times. Also there were fellow receivers Markus Wheaton and Justin Brown.

"It went well," Moye said. "It was a chance to get out there and catch some balls from him on the field, but we didn't do that all day. We were able to get to know each other a little bit better as well."

The goal was to work on timing with Roethlisberger and develop a rapport.

"It was really about (Roethlisberger) getting a feel for some of us a little bit more," Moye said. "We ran some different routes that he wanted to work with us individually on."
Steelers sign seven to futures contracts
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(1/1/14) Seven Steelers who finished the season on the practice squad have been signed by the team to futures contracts.

They are running back Alvester Alexander, wide receiver Justin Brown, offensive linemen Bryant Browning and Chris Hubbard, wide receiver Kashif Moore, safety Ross Ventrone and linebacker Kion Wilson.

Steelers announce long list of cuts
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com
(8/31/13) Jonathan Dwyer was the only surprising cut by the Steelers on Saturday. Here is the list of the others: punter Brian Moorman, running back Alvester Alexander, defensive linemen Alameda Ta'amu and Brian Arnfelt, linebackers Alan Baxter, Terence Garvin, Marshall McFadden and Brian Rolle, wide receivers Justin Brown, Reggie Dunn and Kashif Moore, offensive linemen Mike Golic, Christopher Hubbard, Joe Long and Joe Madsen, tight ends Jamie McCoy and Nathan Overbay, and defensive backs Devin Smith, Terry Hawthorne, Ross Ventrone and Josh Victorian.

Among the notables was Rolle, who is the brother of more accomplished NFL players Antrel and Samari, and Golic, whose namesake father starred with the Eagles and is now an ESPN sports talk show host.
