Cardinals will exercise option on Patrick Peterson
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (3/27/14) The Cardinals plan to exercise a fifth-year option for defensive back Patrick Peterson this summer according to the Arizona Republic Wednesday, a move which should come as little surprise.
Peterson has made the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons, and the Cardinals are already planning to discuss a long-term extension for the three-time Pro Bowler. Under the new collective bargaining agreement, Peterson would make the average of the 10 highest paid corners in the league in his fifth season, assuming he does not sign a long-term extension.
Peterson is coming off a three-interception, 42-tackle season in 2013.

Marcus Bernard returning to Arizona
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (3/12/14) Though the Cardinals allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent, the team ended up bringing linebacker Marcus Bernard back in the end. The team's official website reports Bernard has been re-signed on a one-year deal, the financial terms of which are not yet known.
Bernard finished the 2013 season with 17 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 12 games.
Cardinals hope to bring back Karlos Dansby
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer (3/6/14) The Cardinals would like to bring back free agent linebacker Karlos Dansby, reports the Arizona Republic.
Last year, Dansby played under a one-year, $2.25 million contract. He will be 33 in November, but the report says the "Cardinals can't afford to lose" him.
The story suggests a two-year deal worth $10 million to $12 million makes sense for both parties with $6 million guaranteed.
