Falcons defense doesn't impress
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/14/14) After making a couple big plays to help secure a victory against the Saints in Week 1, the Falcons defense didn't do anything noteworthy Week 2 at Cincinnati.

Instead, it allowed 24 points on 472 yards. And that score would have been worse if kicker Mike Nugent hadn't missed three field goals.

Even worse, the Falcons didn't record a single sack or turnover in the game. They have yet to record a sack all season.

They'll hope for better results Thursday night against the Buccaneers.

William Moore contributes six more tackles
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/14/14) Falcons defensive back William Moore, who recorded six tackles in the season opener last week, had six more, including two solo, Week 2 at Cincinnati. He didn't force any fumbles like he did Week 1 against the Saints, though.

Moore averaged 5.4 tackles in his 16 games last season.

Joplo Bartu gets a bunch more tackles
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/14/14) Falcons linebacker Joplu Bartu, who had 10 tackles in the season opener last week, recorded another nine, including eight solo, Week 2 at Cincinnati.

Bartu now has more tackles through two games than he had during any two-game stretch as a rookie last season.

Paul Worrilow keeps piling up tackles
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/14/14) Falcons linebacker Paul Worrilow, who had 15 tackles in the season opener last week, finished one short of that Week 2 at Cincinnati. He had 14 tackles, including six solo.

Worrilow averaged 12.2 tackles in his final nine games last season after beginning the year in a reserve role.

Falcons defense does as expected
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(9/7/14) The Falcons defense wasn't expected to slow the Saints' mighty offense Week 1 at Atlanta, and it didn't, allowing 34 points on 472 yards. But it at least had a couple of big plays.

Robert McClain made a nice play on the ball late in the third quarter, intercepting quarterback Drew Brees in the end zone, and William Moore forced a fumble out of Marques Colston in overtime. The Falcons didn't record a sack on the day.

They'll hope for better luck against the Bengals in Week 2.
