by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (12/9/13) Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly made a game-high 11 tackles, 10 solo, in the loss at New Orleans. He has 113 stops this year, good for seventh in the NFL.
Kuechly, who was beaten in coverage for a touchdown by Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, faces the Jets in Week 15.
Panthers DST hits major speed bump in New Orleans
by Larry Hartstein | CBSSports.com (12/9/13) The Panthers DST entered Week 14 red hot and left the Superdome humiliated. The unit got picked apart by Drew Brees and the Saints, allowing a season-high 31 points.
The Panthers sacked Brees twice but otherwise rarely pressured him. They did not force a turnover. New Orleans converted 7 of 12 third downs and rolled up 373 yards.
Carolina, which came in allowing a league-low 13.1 points, should have a lot more success Week 15 when the Jets visit.
Be careful with the Panthers DST in Week 14
by Jamey Eisenberg | Senior Fantasy Writer (12/6/13) The Panthers DST has become a must-start Fantasy option this season, but their matchup at the Saints in Week 14 is daunting. If you can bench the Panthers DST this week then that's right move to make.
The Panthers DST has just two games this season with single digits in Fantasy points in a standard league, which was Week 2 at Buffalo and Week 12 at Miami. Otherwise they have been dominant with five games scoring at least 20 Fantasy points, including Week 13 against Tampa Bay.
But facing the Saints and all their weapons will be tough. Only three opposing DST units have scored double digits in Fantasy points against New Orleans, but one happened last week with the Seahawks.
We consider the Panthers DST just a No. 2 Fantasy option this week. If you can afford to bench them then do so, but if you start them just realize it could be a long night in New Orleans.
