Jelani Jenkins, Jason Trusnik step up in loss
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/15/14) Dolphins linebackers Jelani Jenkins and Jason Trusnik were forced into larger-than-expected roles in Week 2 against the Bills, as a result of injuries on the depth chart.

Jenkins led the team with 14 tackles -- nine solo -- and Trusnik wasn't far behind, with 10 -- five solo. Neither accumulated any other stats in the 29-10 loss.

Dolphins pass rush ineffective in loss
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/15/14) The Dolphins pass rush was held at bay in Sunday's 29-10 loss to the Bills, as the team ended up with no sacks in Week 2.

Linebackers Olivier Vernon and Cameron Wake combined for no sacks or tackles for losses in the game, and neither registered a quarterback hit either. Vernon racked up six tackles -- five solo -- while Wake had just one assisted stop.

Dolphins fall flat in Week 2 loss
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) The Dolphins DST unit faltered Sunday, in a 29-10 loss to the Bills in what looked to be an easy matchup.

The Dolphins limited the Bills to just 315 yards of total offense, but suffered from a serious lack of big plays. The Bills put up 29 points on the Dolphins, despite scoring a touchdown in just one of six trips to the red zone. The Dolphins forced no turnovers and had no sacks in the game either.

Big things were expected from the Dolphins DST unit this week, after they overpowered the Patriots in Week 1. They will look to bounce back when they take on the Chiefs in Week 3.

Koa Misi only Dolphins defender sidelined Sunday
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/14/14) The Dolphins defense is mostly in good shape for Sunday's matchup against the Bills in Week 2, but they will be missing one key piece. Linebacker Koa Misi is inactive as a result of a knee injury suffered last week, though his absence was expected as he was listed as doubtful on the injury report.

Other than Misi, the rest of the team enters the game healthy enough to play. Linebackers Philip Wheeler (thumb) and Chris McCain (illness), defensive linemen Randy Starks (toe) and Derrick Shelby (knee), and defensive back Walt Aikens (hand) were all considered probable and are in uniform for the game.

Five Dolphins defenders expected to play through injury
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(9/12/14) The Dolphins have a lengthy injury report for Week 2 against the Bills, but most of their defensive players listed are expected to be healthy enough to play.

Linebackers Chris McCain (illness) and Philip Wheeler (thumb), defensive linemen Randy Starks (toe) and Derrick Shelby (knee) and defensive back Walt Aikens (hand) are all probable for Sunday's game despite being limited at times during practice.
