by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (1:57 pm ET) Earlier in the season, a matchup against the Steelers might not have been the worst news for the Fantasy owner of a DST unit with Pittsburgh on the schedule. Unfortunately, the Steelers are rolling in recent weeks, which makes the Dolphins a poor option for Week 14.
Opposing DST units racked up double digits in Fantasy scoring in seven of the first eight games of the season against the Steelers, averaging 14.8 points per game. In four games since, however, the Steelers have turned the ball over just once and are averaging 26.8 points per game, making them a much less attractive matchup.
Each of the Steelers' last four opponents have failed to reach even nine Fantasy points in a matchup against them, while averaging just 3.8 per game. The Dolphins have been decent on defense this season, but probably aren't worth your time as a starter in Week 14.
Dolphins list three defenders on injury report
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com (12/6/13) Three defensive players have been placed on the Friday injury report by the Dolphins as they prepare to play Pittsburgh on Sunday. Only cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) is threatened with inactivity.
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (12/1/13) The Dolphins took advantage of the Jets' mess at quarterback in an easy 23-3 win in Week 13.
The Dolphins limited the Jets to just 177 yards of total offense in the game, while forcing the Jets into a quarterback change at halftime. Neither starter Geno Smith nor his replacement Matt Simms was able to get anything going, as the Jets finished with 78 yards through air and two interceptions.
The Dolphins ultimately forced three turnovers and sacked the Jets' quarterbacks four times. Though the special teams didn't chip in anything, this was still one of the Dolphins DST unit's finest performances of the season.
The Dolphins faced dreadful quarterback play in Sunday, but they won't have the same benefit next week. Miami's next game is set for Week 14 against the Steelers.
Jets can't avoid Brent Grimes
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (12/1/13) Dolphins defensive back Brent Grimes didn't get many balls thrown his way in Week 13, in a 23-3 win over the Jets. Grimes wasn't busy for much of the day, but he took advantage of the Jets' erratic quarterback play with two passes defended and an interception. He added two tackles.
The interception is Grimes fourth of the season and third in the last five games.
Dannell Ellerbe comes up with big play
by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com (12/1/13) Dolphins linebacker Dannell Ellerbe had a quiet game in Week 13 against the Jets, but did come up with one big play in a 23-3 win. Ellerbe had a season-low one tackle, but added an interception, his second of the season.
Ellerbe has 77 tackles on the season, and his previous low for a season was two stops.
