Giants DST unit gets little help in loss

by Chris Towers | CBSSports.com
(11/17/14) The Giants defense put together a solid performance in Week 11 against the 49ers, but got little help from the offense in a 16-10 loss.

The Giants held the 49ers offense to 333 yards in the game, and held them out of the end zone on all four of their trips to the red zone. However, the 49ers were able to dominate the time of possession as the Giants' offense turned the ball over five times in the loss. The Giants DST unit came away from the game with one turnover and one sack.

The Giants DST unit came away from the game with just 7 Fantasy points, their sixth in a row in single figures. They will take on the Cowboys in Week 12.

Giants DE Jason Pierre-Paul not worried over free agency

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/14/14) Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who's on the final year of his contract, told reporters Friday he's worried more about snapping New York's four-game losing skid than contract negotiations, ESPN reported. Both sides have yet to have any discussions about a new extension this season.

"To be honest with you, I'm not worried about my contract situation," Pierre-Paul said after Giants practice Friday. "It's going to take care of itself. If I'm here, I'm here. If I'm not, I'm not. I don't think about it. I go home and sleep good at night."

Pierre-Paul on Giants' problems: 'It is all about heart'

by Igor Mello | CBSSports.com
(11/7/14) Just a few days after his teammate safety Antrel Rolle questioned his team's effort in a 40-24 Monday night loss against the Colts, Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul told reporters Friday that the team did not have enough "heart," per ESPN. With the Week 9 defeat, the Giants have dropped three consecutive games and are 3-5 on the season, three games behind Philadelphia for first place in the NFC East.

"Honestly, it is not all about attitude, it is all about heart," Pierre-Paul said Thursday, when asked about the Giants' attitude heading into the second half of the season. "You can have the attitude, you can have the swagger, you can talk your way, but it is all about heart. If you don’t have the heart to play this game, then we are going to continue losing.

"That is with every guy, every guy has to challenge their self to play more and do more than what they expect," he continued. "When it comes down to it, it is all about heart. If you don’t have heart, that is something you can’t give a player, you just have to have it."

Giants DST fares about as you'd expect

by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(11/4/14) Facing the league's most prolific offense in terms of both yards and points per game, the Giants DST didn't have a prayer Week 9 against Indianapolis. It allowed 40 points on 448 yards, recording one sack.

It was only the third time this season that the Giants have allowed more than 30 points in the game, but they've now done it in back-to-back games.

Though they've done a pretty good job of creating turnovers this season, particularly with their 11 interceptions, the Giants aren't the most consistent team defensively. With a tough matchup Week 10 at Seattle, you should avoid their DST in Fantasy.

Giants ready to lean on Jameel McClain at middle linebacker

by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com
(10/27/14) With the news Giants linebacker Jon Beason will need season-ending surgery, coach Tom Coughlin indicated Monday that Jameel McClain will start at middle linebacker moving forward. McClain has totaled 40 tackles (21 solo), two pass defenses and 1/2 sack through seven games.
