(12/21/14) The Giants DST continued its strong finish Week 16 at St. Louis, scoring double-digit Fantasy points for the fourth straight game after doing so just twice in its first 11. It allowed 27 points on 387 yards and had only two sacks, but it made up for those lackluster numbers with four takeaways, including three fumble recoveries.
Sacks had carried the Giants DST the previous three weeks. It had no fewer than seven against the Redskins, Titans or Jaguars. It'll give up some points at times but has also shown a knack for big plays in recent weeks. Unfortunately, its matchup Week 17 against the Eagles is just too dangerous for you to use it in Fantasy.

Giants D continues strong play in win

(12/14/14) The Giants defense continues their late-season revival in Week 15 against Washington, as they recorded their third double-digit Fantasy game in a row in a 24-13 win.
Washington's offense actually performed better than expected Sunday, racking up 372 yards of total offense. However, the Giants bull rushed Robert Griffin III all day, racking up seven sacks and a turnover in the win.
The Giants DST unit finished the game with 13 Fantasy points, giving them 54 over the last three. They will look to keep things going in Week 16, with the Rams on the schedule.
Giants take advantage this time
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer
(12/7/14) Aside from its season-high seven sacks, the Giants DST underwhelmed with a gimme matchup Week 13 at Jacksonville. But it got a reprieve with another favorable one Week 14 at Tennessee and this time took advantage, allowing seven points on 207 yards.
The Giants one-upped their season high with eight sacks and also scored their first defensive touchdown of the year when defensive lineman Markus Kuhn returned a fumble 26 yards in the first quarter. That was one of the Giants' three takeaways on the day, more than in their previous three games combined. The other two were interceptions.
Despite this strong showing, the Giants DST has had little to offer Fantasy owners this season, but with another favorable matchup Week 15 against Washington, which just got shut out by St. Louis in Week 14, it's worth starting again in Fantasy.

The Giants DST used to be a standout Fantasy option, but they aren't even a No. 1 unit coming into this season. The Giants DST were No. 16 in Fantasy points in 2013 with 34 sacks, 17 interceptions, 12 fumble recoveries and three touchdowns. Getting Jason Pierre-Paul back at 100 percent will help after he battled through a shoulder injury last year, and having Jon Beason for a full season is also a benefit. The Giants also improved their secondary with the addition of Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, which should make it tough on opposing quarterbacks with Prince Amukamara on the opposite side, but the key for this Giants defense is their pass rush. If Pierre-Paul is healthy then this unit can shine. Still, go into the season with the Giants DST as a No. 2 Fantasy option, and if they start off the season playing well add them off waivers.
